Black Widow: The last track of Natasha Romanoff

Black Widow, the film directed by Cate Shortland, is the prequel to the story of Avenger Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson. As a fan of MCU (Marvel Comics Universe) I was very curious to watch the film to finally know a lot of details about the past of the reference female character of the Avengers and the story has not disappointed me at all.

The story tells of how Natasha was literally torn from her family when she was still a child, along with her sister, to be trained to become a war machine, along with a group of other girls called Black Widows.

Years later, after escaping from the training center, Natasha decides to face her past and soon discovers an even more dramatic past, torn from her mother of origin and entrusted to what she considered her family, but was already in the full experiment of the perfidious general of the KGB and creator of the Black Widows program.

Natasha Romanoff: Once I had nothing, then I had this job, this family, but nothing lasts forever!

Natasha's sister Yelena discovers she is under the hypnotic effect of the KGB and manages to escape from the Russian military grip. Reunited with Natasha, father Alexei Shostakov (Red Guardian) and mother Melina, a KGB agent and doctor, the family attacks the Black Widows laboratory, freeing the girls from a fate of war and death.

Black Widow is set after Captain America Civil War, and in turn contains flashbacks of Natasha's origins. As an introductory MCU Phase 4 film, the story focuses on the character Black Widows, who died in Avengers The Endgame but cinema is known to work wonders and I'm pretty sure Natasha will be back sooner or later. In fact, Black Widow's body has never been found, there has not been a worthy funeral ... In short, everything makes me suspicious.

Meanwhile, in the hidden scene after the credits, Yelena has become a mercenary and her next target is the killer of her sister, Hawkeye. It is therefore plausible to imagine that Nastasha's family will somehow be the protagonists in Phase 4 and I am also very curious to know more details.

The film got some good reviews, some criticism of the story that could have been improved upon, made more intriguing or articulated. But it is still an action movie and not a drama. The action scenes are fast and well built, the special effects are always at the top and even the hand-to-hand combat is well built. The soundtrack is very pleasant and integrates well with the scenes of the film, we often ignore how important it is that the music accompanies the scenes in a precise and punctual way.

Come appassionato di MCU (Marvel Comics Universe) sono stato molto curioso di guardare il film per conoscere finalmente molto dettagli del passato del personaggio femminile di riferimento degli Avengers e la storia non mi ha per nulla deluso.

La storia narra di come Natasha sia stata letteralmente strappata dalla sua famiglia quando era ancora una bambina, assieme a sua sorella, per essere addestrata a diventare una macchina da guerra, assieme ad un gruppo di altre ragazze chiamate Black Widows.

A distanza di anni, dopo essere fuggita dal centro di addestramento, Natasha decide di affrontare il suo passato e scopre ben presto un passato ancora più drammatico, strappata dalla sua madre d'origine e affidata a quella che considerava la sua famiglia, ma era già nel pieno esperimento del perfido generale del KGB e ideatore del programma Black Widows.

Natasha Romanoff: Una volta non avevo niente, poi ho avuto questo lavoro, questa famiglia, ma niente dura per sempre!

La sorella di Natasha, Yelena, scopre di essere sotto l'effetto ipnotico del KGB e riesce a fuggire dalla morsa militare russa. Riunitasi con Natasha, il padre Alexei Shostakov (Red Guardian) e la madre Melina, agente e dottoressa del KGB, la famiglia attacca il laboratorio delle Black Widows, liberando le ragazze da un destino di guerra e morte.

Black Widow è ambientato dopo Captain America Civil War, e a sua volta contiene dei flashback delle origini di Natasha. Come film introduttivo della Fase 4 dell'MCU, la storia si concentra sul personaggio Black Widows, morta in Avengers The Endgame ma il cinema si sa che può fare miracoli e sono abbastanza convinto che prima o poi Natasha tornerà. Infatti il corpo di Black Widow non è mai stato trovato, non vi è stato un degno funerale... Insomma tutto m'insospettisce un po'.

*Intanto nella scena nascosta dopo i titoli di coda, Yelena è diventata una mercenaria ed il suo prossimo obiettivo è proprio l'assassino di sua sorella, Occhio di Falco. È quindi plausibile immaginare che la famiglia di Nastasha sarà in qualche modo protagonista nella Fase 4 e sono anche molto curioso di conoscere maggiori dettagli. *

Il film ha avuto delle buone recensioni, qualche critica sulla storia che poteva essere migliorata, resa più intrigante o articolata. Ma trattasi pur sempre di un film d'azione e non un dramma. Le scene d'azione sono veloci e ben costruite, gli effetti speciali sono sempre al top ed anche i combattimenti corpo a corpo sono ben costruiti. La colonna sonora è molto piacevole e ben s'integra con le scene del film, spesso s'ignora di quanto sia importante che la musica accompagni le scene in modo preciso e puntuale.
