Little hidden treasures

The valuables of the past, albeit extremely refined, always express a lot of simplicity, trivially because they were objects used daily by noble families, and not decorations to be kept inside a piece of furniture or behind glass for display. An example is this sugar bowl with a set of teaspoons, handcrafted and certainly not in an impeccable state, as they were actually used in the last century.

Not being collectibles, there are no data that help me understand the year of construction or the place, minimal details to provide a correct time allocation. The weight is 400 grams in total, both the spoons and the sugar bowl are in silver, the presumed date of the relationship is the beginning of the last century, my grandfather claimed it had been made in the 1930s.

A set of spoons like this one was generally combined with a set of tea or coffee cups, as well as a tray for cups. My grandfather claimed to have also kept the silver tray somewhere but at the moment I haven't found anything yet. Upon careful analysis, the teaspoons are identical to each other, with a decoration on the end, simple and elegant.

The sugar bowl is more structured, made up of small handles along the circumference on which the six teaspoons rest. The base has the shape of a cone, a stable and rounded base on which the upper body rests,

The inside of the sugar bowl has streaks that start from the bottom towards the edge, from the top they look like the spokes of a car wheel. I admit that overall the sugar bowl is very nice, it has lost some shine due to age but it is a great collector's item and my grandmother is very fond of it. I will continue to keep it inside the cabinet of memories, many rare objects lie here, each with a piece of history behind it!

In spite of being over 100 years old, the sugar bowl and tea spoon set looks so shiny and clean. No doubt it holds a great value and a great collection item. Great photos and post ❤️

Beautiful silver bowl with spoon and it is great to have such things stay in family and be keepers of memories and wonderings. For some reason I like antiques quite much because all are telling a story and have meaning.

A lovely Sugar service, I take it that tea was frequent refreshment of choice at your grandparent's time.
