1 year on Hive and 21 years in Real Life.

Hello there, fellow Hivers! How are you doing today? I hope all is well with you. In my recent blog, I shared the unfortunate incident of how my wallet got compromised, leading to the loss of a huge amount of money that wasn’t mine. Nevertheless, despite what happened, I still needed to move forward and come back stronger. This time, I am letting the universe and karma do their work.

On July 5, I received a heartwarming comment from HiveBuzz, reminding me that it was my first birthday here on the Hive blockchain. It's just sad that I didn't have the chance to write a blog about it because three days had already passed since I saw the notification. To be honest, I had really forgotten the day I created this account, and without the reminder from HiveBuzz, I would have let July pass without reminiscing about the moments and memories I had on this platform.

It all began a year ago when I stumbled upon @tpkidkai's post about Hive. At that time, I was actively posting on another blogging platform. However, since I can write and love exploring new avenues, I decided to message him and inquire about Hive. He delightedly answered my inquiries and even guided me through the process of creating an account. From there, I was able to publish my introduction post.

I wasn't left alone because I was warmly welcomed by the Hive PH community. Their valuable members were so enthusiastic about helping and guiding us on our journey in the blockchain. I never felt out of place when interacting with them; instead, they treated me as if they had known me for a long time.

But probably the most unforgettable memory I will treasure for the rest of my life is when I had the opportunity to meet the Hive PH community members outside of Discord. The wonderful meet-up was held in Makati, Philippines, last April. Meeting them in person delightfully satisfied my curiosity about their voices, and I couldn't help but think, "Wow, is this real? I can finally see their expressions while talking." Haha.

Since I am not used to meeting new people, I consider this as one of those rare moments where I decided to take a big leap outside of my comfort zone. Despite having a bit of difficulty adjusting to the change in my environment, I had a great time.

However, I can say that those changes helped me become who I am today. Without facing the uneasiness, I wouldn't have been able to grow. Now that I am 21 years old, I can confidently say that this version of me is better compared to the previous years.

Today is my special day. I am now a 21-year-old young man. In the Philippine setting, this is considered a debut, officially welcoming young men as part of the young adult population.

Over the course of 21 years, I witnessed myself evolve physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. Looking back, I would like to thank myself for choosing to continue walking on the rough road of life. While I know that there's still a long way to go, I am already confident that I can handle whatever comes my way.

Moreover, I want to take this opportunity to gratefully acknowledge the people who have both left and stayed in my life. To those who left, thank you. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to figure out why, reflect on my self-worth, and grow. To those who stayed, I really appreciate it. Your presence during my ups and downs, during the times when I didn't know who I was, when I felt lost, and when I felt like giving up, meant a lot to me.

To those who have recently arrived, let's enjoy each other's company and see where this road will bring us.

Last but not least, I want to appreciate my parents for giving their all to show their love for me. While there are no perfect parents, I truly appreciate their efforts to provide the affection a child needs. Just like now, my parents shared their plan with me that they'd like to prepare a small feast for my birthday. However, I politely declined and told them to keep it simple. Aside from wanting a peaceful day, bad weather would make it inconvenient for possible visitors to come to my place. But I just love my mother's persistence, and she persuaded me to still have a celebration. Eventually, I gave in and allowed her plan to happen, but I suggested only inviting our close relatives.

Probably at the time this blog is posted, I am currently having a fun with my cousins and my other relatives. If you reach this part, thank you. I really appreciate. Cheers for more years both in Hive and in real life!
