This week the prompt is "persist". I hope to be able to capture the essence of this simple but powerful word. I have included the link to this week's challenge in case you'd like to participate: It's #ZapFic50Friday! Hurrah! Write me a story using precisely 50 words!

I hope you like my story for this week's prompt:

Hoping to win big, for twenty years, Uncle Larry has consistently played his state's various lottery items.

Meanwhile, his financial burdens have grown exponentially.

He still persists that today will be the day he purchases the winning tickets.

I refuse to loan him money to buy the winning lottery ticket.

Hello @clicks2cash. Your story rings true for so many people I know, family and friends. I feel that the lure of get rich quick schemes with overwhelming odds of winning is just too risky to spend your hard earned money on each day. If people were as persistent and diligent at saving of investing with less risk or higher odds would be better off.

I've heard the lottery described as "poor people's tax." That should tell you to leave it where it resides...at the convenience store while you're refueling your vehicle!
