Why are we made like this ? !

We care so much about big numbers. Views on youtube, a lot of money. The number of subscribers or followers. The amout of things we own. We care a lot about the age. The days and even time and seconds. Is our lives based on numbers ? Is that the most important for us ?

Stocks were created and everyone started buying them and we all wished to own as much as possible. Bitcoin was created and everyone started buying it. The price of both started growing and more people became interested to buy both. Maybe bitcoin is more interesting than stocks because it has such huge numbers in it. 100 million satoshies is much more than penies or cents in any fiat currency. That was a smart move from Nakamoto. Of course it's decentralized and revolutionary. It may bring a lot of value by helping people to get rid of an intermediary. But still it's a code or a combination of numbers we own.

When we see any other cryptocurrency creating hype, we run to buy it. Some don't even look at the website or the team. They just buy it because it's famous. Because one of celebrities talked about it. Maybe not even him/her, but the manager who has access to the account. I don't think that a celebrity will have time to sit in a social media for a free talk. They usually work mostly on their rating to be always popular and to make everyone talk about them. Nowadays they don't even care about reputation. The most important for them is to attract attention. Will you buy a coin promoted by such people and hold it for a long time just because they promoted it ? Will you trust your money to someone speculating with your attention and emotions ? You may say it's working. But do you really see the value in a woof coin ? !

Speaking about how our reward system works and how the most rewarded content is trending. Do you think that could be the best ever content for you ? That's for sure for a group of people who liked that, but not for everyone. You may find undervalued content that may bring you more value in your life and even to population or human kind. While a trending content could be just a picture or a video. Just those big numbers are making it trending. You may see even the most commented post earning dust and a post with a few comments in trending. That's a great estimation to understand if the trending content is worth consuming or not. Those numbers of comments matter, I think. That may prove that the author is engaging with others to get that activity back. I wish the most commented posts were rewarded someday.

The dogecoin story with Elon proves a lot about people. How could a joke coin be on the top of cryptocurrencies and people investing in it more than 55 billion dollars. Could that be a real joke ? No, that's for real, baby.

Maybe the value is not that important. Only marketing is what matters ! People seem to buy anything if that's promoted well ! That's maybe how every business works !

hahhahhaha...yes sweetie. I love numbers more than anyone else. I love adding two and two together and it becomes four. I love the way the variables turns into a number once we collect like terms, and divide through by the coefficient of a particular variable....hehehehhehhe

So number is life, it is shown in how we cherish in the different scenarios you highlighted

But you are right about the way we use the numbers here for the platform. The trending posts should be based on the magnitude of the engagements and not the votes it receives

Now I am moved to ask too, why are we like this, when it comes to numbers, please? hahhahahhahaa

Yeah, it is really a trigger for us. Well, it happens that every brand that is able to catch the attention of the public gets hyped, followed, and widely patronized. Maybe this is the way the world works.

One needs to court attention at all cost, if not, he or she will be lost in the crowd.

Sad but it's the fact of life. In our language, Hindi, there's a famous quote "Jo dikhta hai wo bikta hai" meaning one is attracted towards shiny things even if it has no value associated with it. And something that looks bad is ignored just because it doesn't look good, no matter what value is associated with it.

For sure. It's happening in many fields in our lives. We just have to accept that and let it go and move on. The most important is to do something and to not let that stop us from trying !
