Today I wanted to chat a little bit about the Hive goals that I've got laid out for myself!

2022 HBD and Hive Goals

As the year is starting to get into the last quarter of it, I wanted to see where I'm at with my goals for the year that I originally set out with, and how I can make progress towards those goals and add some new ones to that bunch!

The Hive ecosystem has definitely been one of those places that is a blessing in so many regards. It's got it's challenges for sure on several levels but it's got a lot of benefits to it for sure. One of those benefits for me is that it's helped me get more into having and being a goal setting person. I wasn't really goal-oriented before but with Hive I can and have morphed into becoming a goal setter in some sense. I'm hoping that it expands into more goal setting for other things in life but that will come with time!

With Hive, one of the goals I've set for myself at the end of 2021 and early 2022 was that I would try to get to 23k Hive Power for the year as my most-likely achievable goal for the year. I've just crossed that with the most recent #HPUD which was an amazing feeling!

What that does mean for me though, is shifting gears and expanding the original goals I've had for the year and including some more goals! I've set 25k Hive Power as the goal to achieve for the year, which of course means total staked in my account, not total earned for the year LOL. One of the dudes on here, I forget his name, but he's doing a decent podcast on here. He thought I earned 22k
Hive Power so far this year! LOL That would be pretty awesome but most certainly whale territory that I haven't achieved and likely won't achieve for at least a couple years, if ever. If I can get up to 25k Hive Power total for the year, that means I would have earned and staked 5k Hive Power in the year! There was a time that it took me 2 years to get that much hahaha but one of the things that I've been able to do over time is make some good moves and stake a lot of Hive Power through a few different avenues.

One of those avenues is that I've managed to get some good curation on some of the posts that I've put out there which I appreciate so much for those folks that think my content is worth some extra votes beyond what would be considered normal. Having that has really expounded my results and ability to earn and stake as much Hive Power as I can! Combine that with my daily curation rewards for voting and being on the Curangel voting trail at about 5 Hive per day, sometimes closer to 6, and I've got some great growth happening overall!

My primary focus for the year for sure is going to be getting to that 25k Hive Power goal but I've also added in another goal for me and that's to have an HBD goal as well!

I've held HBD in various quantities for a while, since they started offering rewards for keeping it in the savings account which is pretty awesome. One of the things that derailed me a little bit last year was Splinterlands hahaha. I had 200 HBD in the savings account just about and then when Chaos Legion got released, I ended up getting a gold foil legendary summoner and I knew I needed to get 1 more so I could make it level 3. That sucked up all of my HBD for a while! I've been slowly building it back up over time and am at a much better place now than I was a few months ago.

With that in mind, I'm now setting a goal for HBD so that I can have 250 HBD in savings by the end of the year! I am not super confident in this number but this is a goal I am aiming for with all I can, and hoping I can achieve it by the end of the year. I am certainly focusing more on Hive Power but trying to also have HBD in mind!

To also be a pain to myself, I set myself another goal. I created an account for my son this year with the notion that he is FAR too young to even be allowed on the platform but I wanted to set it up as a way for him to have some money set aside for him for his future. The account is growing small bits at a time and I'm keeping a track of it but I'm going to see if I can set an HBD goal for that account as well. I'd love to be able to hit 150 HBD in the savings account there by the end of the year! That way the interest compounding each month will add up nicely over time. I delegate out the Hive Power that I power up to it each month so that it can get a little bit of passive income and not be directly associated with me and my account, but rather help other curation groups. Currently it's set to Curangel but I may opt to change that in the future once I get a decent amount of Hive Power on there.

I am pretty satisfied with the goals I've set for myself and have some confidence that I can hopefully achieve some of them at least. Hive Power would be the best one to hit as that just translates into a whole array of other things that benefit me and my account long term. I am thinking that, if I am able to maintain the current trajectory that I am on right now, I should be able to attain the 25k Hive Power goal! That would be sweet but like anything on Hive, nothing is guaranteed until it hits your wallet! Someone could come and zero out or reduce the rewards on my posts because they feel they are rewarded too high. Hopefully that doesn't occur but you never know.
