Today I wanted to appreciate having a little bit of shelter goes a long way!

If you have been to my blog and likely many other blogs in the world to be honest, one thing that many of us really enjoy is a good old beach! I know Galen loves them with all of his heart, especially the sand part! :D
We've been going to this one beach though for a while, since my wife was pregnant, and one of the things we really appreciate with this particular beach is it's got shelter overhead! Some days it's not the best because with it being shelter, it tends to capture the smells, both good and bad, and traps them under there. Makes for a good time as well as a bad time! lol
With the little man growing up though, one of the things we are trying to appreciate more are the times where we can slow down and relax. Being in the sun all day is great but you have to be careful with the little ones that they don't stay out there too long and get burned. The shelter here provides the perfect cover for that! It doesn't hurt that it sounds great with the tide lower like this, crashing the waves and echoing it underneath the wooden structure overhead.
We have spent more days recently in this area because it gives lots of opportunity to relax at the beach while not worrying too much about the small things like sun exposure and all that. We get to hang out, build some sand castles near the water and watch them get destroyed, and it gives us a nice break, particularly my wife who's a worry wart! :D Not a whole lot can go wrong under here so it's a nice respite from some stuff for a while.
We are trying to slow down and enjoy these days as much as we can. I for one am a little pessimistic about events that are unfolding and the impact it will have on things in the future but when you're sitting here, listening to the sound of the surf and the kids playing in the sand, it makes things feel alright for a while and that's all we're asking for most days.

The sun was brightly shining and for sure it was too hot, thanks to the native building, it gives shelter to the beach goers from the heat of the sun.
Yeah the shelter was a big bonus for us!
That shelter would be perfect for me if I went to a beach that had it. Usually the ones I know are always covered by sea water.
The photos look great and of course it's good to shelter from the sun.

Thanks, yeah most times the things like that are over the water so we don't get to sit underneath or if they aren't too far over water the sand is gross. Thankfully this one is perfect with nice sand and a way to get out of the sun!

thats a nice spot to shelter from the sun, well maybe not when the bad smells are there, but avoiding spending to much time in the sun is good for both your child and you as well, trust me sun can damage the skin I speak from experience

It's funny one of the smells I learned from my wife that our son complains about is a dude that smokes weed hahaha he takes his break and lights up a joint!
Ya the sun is definitely a thing to keep an eye on to make sure we don't get too much of it. We've been trying to balance it out for sure.

Ohh the smell of weed can linger, I was walking in a spot this morning and got a strong smell of it in one spot, there was footprints so clearly someone had been there earlier, but I saw no one around
