Double IPA Beer Saturday

I haven't been enjoying a #beersaturday routinely lately, we seem to have a little bit of sickness in the house at one time or another! That for me is when I stay away from drinking some beers, mainly because I don't need to be in a bad mood from sleeping poorly and having to wake up constantly to help the little man or my wife if they are feeling under the weather. Thankfully though, we got a bit of a respite from the sickness! I've had some beer sitting in the fridge for a few weeks and I've left it alone but I decided to crack one open this Saturday!

The beer that I went for here was one that I knew someone who was married to someone who worked at the place. It was a name I was familiar with but never really stopped into the place for one reason or another. It's on the outskirts of one of the big cities and it's close to a rock gym that we go to every here and there but I didn't really stop into it before. I made sure to change that here though, and went in for a look to see what they were offering!

The various things they had for sale seemed like they were okay. One thing I really wasn't into though was the outrageous prices they were asking LOL they were charging 16$ per 4 pack of beer! That's insanity LOL you could almost get a cheaper beer at a bar for that damn price! Ugh, I was not thrilled about that but they did have a decent selection that I wanted to try. There were quite a few on the list that looked good but I wasn't sure if it would be a waste to try some of their other options. I really wanted to try their Pilsner but at 16$ for a 4 pack, I didn't want to get some beer that was just going to taste like water. I instead opted for a bit of a reliable source, and went with an IPA!

I got home later on that day and realized that I scored a bit better with a double IPA and that was great! I like the double because it's a little stronger and you get a bit more of a feeling out of drinking one versus some of the lighter options. The beer was also pretty good on the taste front! I didn't love it, but I don't know if that was because it was a double and the bitterness had to be stronger in order to qualify as such.

At any rate though, I enjoyed the beer and it poured nicely, had a great orange glow to it that I really love from the IPA's and it's got the good foam balance! I am not a huge fan of crazy foam but I will certainly enjoy a bit of foam at the top of the beer. This one had a great balance to it for sure! If I got offered them, I would certainly take another beer or two but I don't think I would be going back to this brewery, even if it's on my way home lol. I can't handle the expensive prices of the beers. Paying 11 or 12$ for a 4 pack is really my limit, and for good reason too. The raising of prices left and right really is getting out of hand these days!
