Hazy Beer Saturday

With all that goes on this time of year, one thing is for sure, sometimes we need to kick back and unwind a little bit. One of the best ways to do that for me is with a brewskie!

I haven't indulged in a beer for a while for one reason or another but I decided the other day when we were at the store that I ought to grab a four pack of some local craft beers and give it a try. Thankfully with craft beers, there is never a shortage of breweries that are new to the shelves or to me in the stores. I don't remember half the ones that I've tried except for some of the more popular ones but I'm pretty sure that this beer company is one that I haven't had before.

New Hampshire is getting quite a name for itself as a place that creates all kinds of craft beers and distributes them to the whole New England area. In many parts of New England like in New Hampshire, the grocery stores carry quite a good selection of brews and that's usually where I'm looking for my next one. I know the liquor stores (or "package stores" as people apparently say in the Boston area, though I've never really heard that said much..) have beers too and probably need the business more than the grocery stores but they are kind of annoying to get to and deal with on some parts of my errand running, so grocery store it is!

This one is an IPA, which is my style of choice because I'm lame sometimes LOL I enjoy a lot of different styles of beer that's for sure but for whatever reason I'm often drawn to an IPA so I usually go with that. This one was the same boat and it ended up being a pretty marvelous choice!

The company, Throwback Brewery, is one that I certainly haven't heard of before but what drew me in was the can art. I'm a simple man with simple tastes. Give me a cool bit of art on the beer can and you've got my attention and sale! This was no different for sure lol. I also like to look at what the style is of the beer and I wasn't quite sure what they meant by "hazy house IPA" so that drew me in and clinched the sale for them and their company.

The beer was what I'd expect for an IPA but for whatever reason this one has a lot more punch to it! An IPA usually has quite a sour flavor to it which I enjoy but this one really kicks you in the teeth which was both delicious and a little unnerving. I loved it and ended up slugging this one down pretty quick because of how easy it was to drink.

I think some stuff could be said about the ingredients and the different flavor profiles and shit. I don't know about you, but I don't taste any of that. People say some beer has chocolatey notes, earthy, yatta yatta and I don't taste any of it distinctly lol. I guess my taste buds are childish and unrefined but whatever, I like the bitter flavor of this beer and it really went down smoothly and even the burps weren't offensive to me. Sometimes the burps you have after these bring back up some questionable flavors but this one was decent through and through!

If I can remember the name of the company next time I'm out searching for a brew to indulge on in 6-8 weeks, I might give these fellas another try but in a different variety!
