Mixture Monochrome Monday

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to add a couple of older pictures together for Monochrome Monday this week!

Mixture Monochrome Monday

It's been a heck of a last few days in the house.. sickness rears its ugly head again! It's definitely been a brutal winter so far, and we are definitely looking forward to the springtime when this crap goes away lol.

In the spirit of deep winter though, let's get a few pictures together of some cold looking stuff in black and white! It certainly feels dark and dreary, the way we've been feeling in our house. I enjoy the dramatic look of the coldness of the ice, altered and made feel even colder by taking away all of the colors as well!

We are supposedly getting some snow in our area finally, if that actually happens remains to be seen but I know that I'm looking forward to it! I know that we are having some health issues and that's to be expected in the wintertime but it doesn't take away the beauty of snow and snowstorms! I love the way the whole environment is given a fluffy allure to it, almost like there is a bunch of marshmallow all over the place haha. I think this one here is one of my favorite pictures of the wintertime, actively snowing and those light poles add a pretty dramatic element to it all. The hard white light fighting away the darkness of not only nighttime but also of the snowstorm we were getting at the time.

I know that we are fortunate to live in a time where we don't have to worry too much about shelter, heat and all those types of things in the wintertime. Yes we certainly need to keep things up and repaired but wintertime for the people who were alive 300 years ago compared to today must be such an incredible difference in terms of staying warm and healthy!

The other part of the snowstorms is that they tend to do some destruction! A lot of the trees around here are pretty old which is a good thing but they are also burdened with all kinds of vines and other shit that is heavy enough. Add several hundred pounds of heavy, wet snow on top of it all and you've got quite the challenge on your hands! There are always a number of trees that get knocked down in the snowstorms, hopefully with the snow we get this winter there won't be too many downed trees and power lines. That is the hardest part, when the trees knock out the electricity!

I love the marked dramatic effect of the black tree branches mixed with the pure white of the snow. It really makes a special looking scene in a lot of ways!

I agree that snow is so beautiful and an amazing wonder of nature. However, it also brings destruction to some sort. It happened here in Pakistan as well.

Great picture for monochrome. keep sharing such amazing content. Have a great day ahead 💕

Yes snow is beautiful for sure but it does do quite a bit of damage! That’s the part about earth and living on it, there has to be balance. Nature gives wonderful gifts but it also is powerfully dangerous and that’s how it should be. We need balance!

Snow scenes.
I haven't been to a snowing country and I've always imagined being there to experience the cold weather cos I love it.

But, the way you guys talk of the coldness makes me think twice always 😅

Coldness is a change for sure. I think it's an important part of life and don't dislike it! It's a very good cycle because it kills things so that we get a bit of a reset in a lot of ways. Bugs die, animals die and in the spring new ones come. The snow makes the cold worth it because it’s beautiful! Plain cold weather is rather boring without snow haha

Like you said, the outlook for people today is better than for those who were here 300 years ago especially because coping with the snow is better today. Technology has made it so. Stay well, I guess your illness is related to the weather. I think for people in snowy countries like you, the snow might be harsh, but it's still very beautiful

Yeah the illness is likely related partially to the weather but it’s hard to say. There’s always illness that goes around this time of year, this year we just caught a batch of it.

The snowy and cold weather is my favorite part of winter, we actually just got fresh snow yesterday, the first of the year and it was glorious! I’ve got a few more posts coming out with photos in the next few days but I love the fluffy nature of it all, makes for an incredibly peaceful walking!

I love snow so these pictures make me happy! We don't get a lot, if any, snow in the UK and I love it when I see pictures of other countries which have thick layers of snow. I've always wanted to live somewhere that gets a lot of snowfall for the perfect White Christmas.

Yeah I've not had a white Christmas in a number of years, hopefully we may get one next year or the year after! I do appreciate living where we get a fair amount of snow. What helps is that we've got mountains and things that trap the cold air. The UK doesn't have that so the weather blows right over it!

I couldn’t imagine ever wanting to see snow like that in January seeing as I am in Canada. 🇨🇦 It has been light and now I find myself looking forward to it.

Today it has arrived so there is shovelling in my forecast. ;)

Yeah being in Canada snow is guaranteed lol almost where I am but we do have some years where it doesn't which is odd! We got dumped on for snow this past weekend though so it was good! Got my snow fix - now if the lakes would freeze it would be even better!

Of all the seasons I like it the most when it's snowing and it looks like it's snowing everywhere but where we live it doesn't snow for 12 hours to see us. Have to travel.
