Today I am letting loose a little bit on the planned obsolescence that is incorporated into our phones!

Planned Obsolescence

One of the frustrating things is when our phones have ways to fill themselves up so much that they become completely overwhelmed with just junk!

I know, working in the IT sector, that these logs have their purposes but if I've had a phone for many years I am most likely not going to care at all about the log files from when my phone first turned on! The real big pain in the ass is that we can't easily delete that stuff..

I'm running into issues with my phone at the moment where it doesn't like to behave now that the storage is getting closer to the limit. I've seen this in my line of work where things aren't partitioned properly and when it's trying to write data, it's having issues finding a place to properly store the information. It's quite annoying and I know that it's happening because of the upgrade I put on the phone. They often release upgrades that degrade the performance of your phone so that you go out and buy a new one! The lifecycle of these desperate companies.. have to keep purchasing.

A hilarious note for anyone who's actually reading this, I've rescheduled this post half a dozen times hahaha. I wrote this back in October I think but scheduling posts is great, until you have one that isn't as important as others. Looks like it's going for January now!

Additional update though, I have had an increase in performance on my phone. It seems that the Brave browser was the issue and constantly freezing. After looking more information up about it, having Brave Rewards enabled on my browser is what was freezing it. It seems to be an issue on some iPhones and the solution ended up being disabling rewards.

Each day though, my phone has been filling up slowly with logs and other things so that I have less space. I've even deleted 500 pictures or so over the past few weeks! Thankfully a lot of the pictures I'm taking on my phone are for Hive here and typically once I put it in a post, I delete the picture from my phone lol
