Pumpkin Smoke Bombs
Hi fellow Photography Lovers,
Today I'm back with some awesome pictures we took around Halloween!
Pumpkin Smoke Bombs
One of the things that my wife has gotten into is doing a lot of really awesome things related to photography. She's gotten very good at it!
She got the idea from some other photographers and figured we would give it a try. It's a lot of fun that's for sure but it's a little tricky, the smoke bombs don't last too long!
We like the look of the smoke bombs and were trying to figure out something to do for Halloween that would be cool and spooky. It totally worked out that we used them in the pumpkins, I think! The smoke came out really cool when shooting it with our DSLR camera. It was quite silky looking, I think and had this great effect to it.
I think this one here is my absolute favorite! It's such an interesting picture lol The yellow and white smoke is crawling along the ground kind of like in an old horror film! I love it. The grave stones add another layer of really cool creep factor to it!
The pumpkin here looks like it's getting a faceful of pumpkin guts or something haha.
I think the yellow one had a pretty good look to it overall. It was highly visible and it made quite a show of the pumpkins!
We have some more smoke bombs left so we have some additional ideas of what to do with them in the coming weeks that we will definitely be sharing with everyone. I'm glad that my wife had taken the time to figure this out! It was a lot of fun doing it and we got some nice family photos as well in the mix. It was really cool to see the smoke coming out of the pumpkins and us in the mix of it all!

That just looks like a blast, I'm gonna have to figure out some ways to mix smoke bombs and photography. If you ever run out you can always make your own smoke bombs with some saltpetre and sugar
Hahaha I don't know about that homemade version. We don't need to fill a city block! Then the cooking part sounds a little scary, I can imagine if I messed it up how mad my wife would be lol. This smoke ignited then dissipates in about 30-45 seconds so you have to be quick with it.
It was a lot of fun for sure! Thanks for checking it out! We enjoyed doing it and are already looking for more things to put smoke bombs in and take pictures.
We when made them as kids we used a double boiler, on low heat there's no danger (it won't explode or anything like that). You're basically just melting the sugar. The first time we tried to make them my dad decided to speed up the process and use the microwave instead of a double boiler. I don't know about a city block but it damn sure filled the house full of smoke (and the microwave with purple flames).
You changed everything I ever thought about carving pumpkins.
Hahah that's good! It's a lot of fun doing this. It was all my wife's idea so I'll tell her!
I'm down to surprise her next year cuz she loves carving pumpkins. Makes no sense to me making all that mess for one night of visuals and then throw the thing away but it's traditional I guess. So where do I get the smoke bombs?
We got them off Amazon I think, I’ll ask the Mrs when she wakes up, she loves her sleep lol
Good decision lol! A woman always loves her sleep😇
Hahaha I learned early on in our marriage, don't wake sleeping beauty!
Hahahahaha good husband😅😅😅
Here’s the other version of the pumpkin smoke bongs @afterglow, @creativemary, @fermentedphil that I was telling you about! I liked the other ones but I think these came out way cooler! Lol
Wow, it is indeed way cooler than the blue one. I like both colors. Thank you for the mention. Happy weekend (^_^)
Thanks man! It was fun for sure, my wife did an awesome job with these photos I think!
You're welcome (^_^). She indeed did an awesome job in taking those photos.
Oh yes, these shots are so much better! Someone is starting to become quite qn expert!
Yeah these ones are my favorite for sure! She's got the knack for photography, we are going to explore that more to see what we can make with it! If nothing else, some cool pictures here for Hive :D
She has the skill for sure, more practice makes it better!
Scary looking! Looks awesome. I love the way the smoke is captured. It looks so smooth. Thanks for the tag! Really appreciate it.
Thanks, I loved the way the smoke looked smooth too! That was my favorite. It didn't look so smooth while attempting to hold a pumpkin and take it though hahaha
I can imagine! The blood sweat and tears behind art are never incorporated into the art! 🤣
Incredible work. Keep it going. ❤️
Gorgeous smoke effects and subject.
Awesome idea and work my dear friend @cmplxty. God bless you long my dear friend.
Thanks for checking it out! We had a lot of fun doing it!
Smoke bombs an pumpkins!! That's genius 👏
Thanks man, I agree! She comes up with some remarkable ideas for sure!
Manual selection by @qwerrie.
That's awesome, thank you and @qwerrie! I appreciate it!
Hahaha! This looks amazing. The yellow and white ones are my favorites.
Funny enough, it looks like a foul kind of pumpkin breath, if you ask me. I wonder how long these guys didn't brush their teeth or as if they are vomiting, indeed. Imagine us vomiting colorful smoke. Now that would be interesting...
Nice and creative.. those images were like an oracle to me at 1st sight hahahaha 😂😂😆😆
Dude - these are so awesome. Are these just the basic little smoke bombs you get around the 4th of July? or? My neighbors did a great display this year with gravestones and skeletons and then on Halloween night put out dry ice so the whole thing was full of spooky mist. It was great. But this is also super fun! We had just moved this year so didn't do any decorations and this could be rad for next year!
Thanks for stopping by to check it out! These are kind of regular ones except that we had to order them online. None of the firework stores around us carry things like this but it’s just a large grape basically with a wick coming out. The thing burns for about 20-25 seconds so you have to be quick!
It was an awesome thing to do though, we picked up a bunch more so that we can do it with some other stuff! I have some more plans for the winter with them!
Oh cool! Will def be keeping this in mind. Super fun. Looking forward to seeing the winter take on this!
