The Need to Write

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to talk about a difficult time where I couldn't write, but I was too damn busy to even try LOL

The Need to Write

I've got a knack for getting some posts scheduled when I know that things are going to be challenging for me in terms of the writing department lol.

Recently I wrote about how I was fucking insane with work, working 12 days in a row with 10-14 hour days pretty much every day. It was a wild few weeks that's for sure! Ahead of that time though, one of the things that I knew I would need to do is write a few posts ahead of time so that I could get them scheduled and on the blockchain if I was still working when it came time to publish my daily post. Damn was that a good idea LOL

I must say, with all of the crazy shit that was going on at work, feverishly writing emails and getting people organized and doing things that I am asking them to do, one of the things that I was really struggling with was not writing!

I had to compensate a little bit by just writing down the ideas that came into my head, even just a few words, for the eventual turning them into a post. I do feel a little bit like Edicted though, in that I've now got a little note file that's got a few dozen posts in it and some of them I may never get around to writing LOL but that's okay. I enjoy being able to think of a whole variety of things to write, and being able to turn most of those into actual posts is pretty fun. When I'm not able to write though, I definitely feel like I'm missing something in my daily and weekly routine!

For the craziness at work, I didn't write anything besides comments and engagement on the chain for 7 days, it was one of the longest I've done in a while! I had posts for those days already scheduled and in place but I like to have plenty of days where I do spend time writing, so that I can keep that up and not fall into a rut where I don't want to write and end up not publishing anything on the chain. I know that some may think it's lame but having a writing streak going past 3 years has been pretty exciting for me haha. I've learned quite a bit about myself, let me tell you! I know that I've really gotten used to being able to take the things that go on in my head and in my life and turning them into content so that I can make some space in the filing cabinet that's my brain has really helped.

With the writing, one of the things I recently learned about my insomnia is that I tend to think of a bunch of shit when I'm trying to fall asleep, the way a lot of people do I would think but I made a random change one day and it helped quite a bit! I took some of the things that I was thinking and just wrote them down. Most of those things going on was about work which is a good and a bad thing of course, but when you're up for a few extra hours because you're stressing about all the things that you've got to do or say the next day, one of the important things to be able to do is write them down!

I know for sure that I tend to forget things that I don't write down, not because I'm forgetful but because there are so many damn things that go on up there LOL it gets a little unruly sometimes! I had a night the other night where I was super stressed, had a dozen things going on in my head and couldn't sleep. I whipped out the note on my phone and jotted down a couple things in a list format and 5 minutes later I was passed the fuck out. I guess my brain just needed to dump a couple things in a written format, knowing that if it didn't it would forget it and out like a light! That felt good lol.

With me not being able to write for a week, I definitely felt a little bit like I had something missing! Thankfully it's now been the 8 days and I'm writing a few posts so that I can get back into the swing of things. I wanted to write a bunch tonight but two is good enough, knowing that I've got plenty of days ahead where I can get some additional catharsis going!

What about you, is there something that you enjoy doing and feel a little bit lost when you aren't able to do it? I'd love to hear about it!

I like writing too. I find it as the best way to articulate my thoughts and make the room in my brain more organised lol. I think writing, even just for the sake of it, can be therapeutic, as we are letting thoughts or emotions out.

But the thing I enjoy doing and feel lost when I don't do it is meditation, especially morning meditation. My day feels off when I don't do it.

Yeah I've heard a lot of benefits from meditation. I think I will eventually do it once I get a little bit of free time to do so! In the meantime, like you, I enjoy writing as a way to have an outlet for my mind!

Most of the time I spent most of my time on the blockchain and if I can't stay on the blockchain at times, I feel this part of me is not yet complete for the day

Haha yeah I'm on it every day as well! Different things like comments and stuff but on it at least once a day!

Working for about 12-14 days on a row seem to be a lot
Always make sure that you try to rest and it’s good to always have you on here even though you’re always busy but you still come here to write

Yeah for sure I need a lot of rest lol. I've had a bit of a break which is nice but I have a full week off next week which I'm looking forward to!

Life has become very busy these days but it is good that you take time out to visit such beautiful places and in a busy life you must take time for yourself it relaxes the mind a lot.
