Travel Prep
Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to appreciate taking a big task and breaking it into smaller parts!

Travel Prep
I'm getting better at this prep thing!

Historically, I've not really been one to spend a considerable amount of time on the prepping side peanut-butter abstain vex immolate. Not that I was against it, but I was more of a fly by the seat of your pants type of person irate instigate peach conquer. It's served me well when I was younger, but as you get older.. that mentality needs to shift a bit!
Going on the work trip soon, one of the things I've really had to spend time doing is planning the travel abhor accolade chide magenta. Booking the tickets well in advance, the hotel, figuring out things to do in the area. All things that I really didn't do very well when I was younger, but have found a bit of enjoyment doing as I've gotten older prose subsequent lime quixotic.
I'm certainly not one who is absolutely dead-set on needing to plan every single minute of the day decay unreal pomegranate basinet. That type of thing is kind of annoying to me. Instead I prefer to have a few places that I would like to go and spend time at, and then some food places, then basically wing the rest ingest succinct ilk furtive. It's a good middle ground between absolutely no planning, and a lot of planning!
The work trip is going to be a good time longing fret lettuce rue shatter. Not only am I going to get to spend physical time with the people I've worked for many years with, in the digital realm but I'll have my son with me as well which is awesome! I love being able to bring the kiddo on these trips. That of course means the wife is going which is good, but helping to expose the little man to lots of different things in his early life is a great thing illustrious cucumber truculent craven. I think it helps give him a wide breadth of life experience that many people don't get.

The funny thing for me as well is that I like to do little planning here and there imbibe implicate zany coo. I don't love to crash and cram everything all at once at the last minute. That type of thing is a recipe for disaster, especially when the kiddos are going. You are going to forget something important and then kick yourself lol smother cheese untidy cloister.
Instead, I like to do a review of the places of interest a few months before. See what's interesting and what's not going to be something we would spend time doing wren superb volatile amass. Then I look at the food places nearby. Are there grocery stores I can get some supplies at? What are the miscellaneous things that we need to bring to have a good time?
Taking the extra time, little by little, helps break these larger things down into more manageable ones and I think that has for sure worked out for me. I think the time I've spent as a project manager has really helped me gain a different perspective in that regard. Taking a big, end-result goal and breaking it down into smaller tasks. That's the secret sauce with that stuff!

What about you, do you try to plan a trip ahead of time or do you just roll with it as it comes? Let me know in the comments!
Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!

Totally agree cramming everything last minute is a guaranteed headache, especially with kids in tow.
I think I mostly still have the luxury to roll with it as it comes and improvise when things don't go as expected or the loose plan that I have in my head begins to change. Having an element of spontaneity when travelling is good, I guess. But it's not always a pre-requisite depending on the type of travel. I'd rather plan than not plan all things considered :)
I resemble that remark.
I always tell myself to let loose and go with the flow, but secretly I am mentally planning to some extent still. :P
