The entire December period is one month of the year I love to spend at home as there is a close to one hundred percent guarantee that the entire family will be celebrating the yuletide together except ofcourse something unexpected happens. Like a blur, 2025 moved so fast it feels almost impossible to believe that we are already at the last month of the year. The yuletide is already at our doorstep and with it comes a season of change. The air smells different, marketplaces become busier as people storm into them searching and buying necessities for celebration and even workplaces partake in this as staff take leaves to celebrate with their loved ones. All around, the yuletide happens to be and of the most memorable occasions of the year making the end of the old and in with the new.

I have spent over 20 years on Planet earth and not once do I remember spending this period away from home, however this year is going to be very different. Not only will I be spending this holiday away from home and family, I can't even celebrate the festivities because I am not even financially capable to do so. It has been over 4 months I left home to serve my country and the only thing that I have looked forward to the most was when I'll go back for the December break to be with my family but now it seems like I can't as transportation back home is very expensive since the distance is quite far and the festive period always contributes to the hike in price thanks to law of demand and supply. And finally the alarming cases of insecurities so it seems like the universe just wants me to try something different for a change this year.

Learning the truth doesn't just end it all, it is accepting it and what you do with it that truly matters. After accommodating this new reality, instead of wallowing in my condition I have decided to make the best out it. Since we are about three guys who won't be returning home for the holidays, we've all made plans to pull our resources together into making it interesting. Luckily for us, we can all cook so what to eat on that day won't be a problem especially since we instead on having fried rice and chicken on Christmas day. I won't be going out on the 25th because every eatery, restaurant or recreational spot will be overcrowded. Instead I'll be going to my boss's place to pay him a visit as he already invited me over to his place. It is already certain I won't be leaving there early so it is safe to assume that rest of the day will be spent on visitation.

The 26th of December will be spent at Araromi beach which is like an hour away from where we live. I have never been there before so this seems like the perfect opportunity to explore and meet new people as well. I might not always go out for the rest of this period but one things for certain, there is not going to be a single dull moment through it all. At this point I am still unsure if I'll be going for any crossover event which starts on new years eve but I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Just because this year is different doesn't mean I won't enjoy it after all change is a part of life.
Thank you.
