Selecting Best Cards While Playing

Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.

Current Season

The current season is going on and I am very excited to share that first time I have moved to the Diamond League. Currently I am at Diamond 3 and I am not sure for how much time I can stay there but removal of selecting to go to the higher league actually helped me big time. I am not winning a lot of games but sometimes winning 3-4 games at once helped me to achieve it. I got to the 28 chests of the Gold which is again exceeded my expectation of getting 25 chests.

Selecting Best Cards

Now I will not talk about the cards which we have or the best card I liked to play in this post. This post is all about selecting the best cards among the cards which you have. Now if I talk about my cards, I have total number of 321 cards. Now I am a small player, think about the big players they might have 1000s of cards.

Now when we play a game hardly we know the best cards and that ranges from 50 to max 100 cards. So out of 300+ cards I play mostly with 100 cards and I know the ability of most of them. But say for example if we want to change a card with any other card how would we know if we have not played with that card. This is where selecting the card at the time of selecting the monsters comes into picture.

You might know this already but if anyone doesn't know then you can actually filter out the cards based on the cards which you want to play with. As you can see at the top we can select the Foil, i.e. Regular or Gold. Then we can select the Mana cost. I mostly use Mana Cost filtering because that can give me all the cards based on Mana Cost.

Sometimes I have one slot left and 2 Mana left and I don't know which card to use, and thus the best thing to do is to select the 2 Mana and thus it will give me all the cards which have 2 Mana and thus I can select 1 from them. We can also select the attack type and thus use the card based on the attack type too.

I also try to use the Ability filter where I can select some of the cards which has some different ability which can help me in the game. Like selecting all the cards with Heal ability. I know doing this in less than 3 minutes is actually little problem. But this is used mainly when you have selected some of the cards which you have played last but you don't know any other card which can be useful and thus using the filter you can select that. Like in the below example I have sorted all the cards by Attack, that means the highest attacker will be shown first.

This is the way we can select the card which can be used for playing. As I already said we have 100s of cards and we might not know the ability of all the cards, so sometimes it's better to use thus little filters to find out some of the great cards to be played in the current match if you don't know about it.
