AI Should Help, Not Replace Us.
I think Artificial Intelligence is one of those things that people either really like or completely dislike, but as for me I think I am somewhere in the middle, I do not believe Artificial Intelligence is the enemy and I also do not think that it is something that should replace everything we do, like every tool it depends on how we humans choose to use them
I have used Artificial Intelligence during my study time especially when I needed a topic explained in a simpler way or when I wanted to understand something that looked too complicated in my handout , sometimes the way a lecturer explains something just does not click , but when I ask AI it breaks it down in a way that is easier for me to understand, In that aspect I think Artificial Intelligence is an useful tool.
What I try not to do though is depend on Artificial Intelligence for everything, There is a difference between using Artificial Intelligence to understand a topic and using it to do all your assignments while you just copy and paste, I dont think that is learning anymore, at that point you are only submitting work done for you, Your brain is not gaining anything from it.
To me that is where the line should be drawn.
Artificial Intelligence should help us think, not think for us.
If every answer, every essay and every project comes from Artificial Intelligence without us making any effort then we are only cheating ourselves, One day we might not have access to AI, maybe during an interview, a presentation or when we least are expected to solve real life problems, that is when we will realize we never actually learned anything.
Another thing I have noticed is that people now rely on Artificial Intelligence for the smallest thing, some people cannot write a message or think through a basic problem without asking Artificial Intelligence first, i find that a little worrying because if we stop using our minds they will become lazy over time.
That does not mean we should stop using Artificial Intelligence, okay Far from it.
I think Artificial Intelligence has made learning easier in ways, because It saves time, explains concepts helps with research and even points us in the right direction when we are stuck. Those are good things if you ask me.
The key is balance.
Use Artificial Intelligence as a guide not as a replacement for your effort.
Read your books
Ask questions
Think for yourself.
Then let Artificial Intelligence fill in the gaps where you need help, That way you are still learning while taking advantage of technology.
At the end of the day I believe Artificial Intelligence is here to stay and it is only going to become a big part of our lives, instead of being afraid of it, we should learn how to use Artificial Intelligence wisely.
For me the goal is not to let Artificial Intelligence do life for me, the goal is to let Artificial Intelligence make learning a little easier while I still put in the work myself.
Because no matter how smart Artificial Intelligence becomes, nothing can replace the satisfaction that comes from understanding something with your own mind.
