This post provides an update on the ongoing Hive borehole project located in Kyekyebon-(English-Chichibong) , a locality in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region. As announced last week In this Post , work was to commence early this week. However, there was a change in plans and the borehole was relocated to a more convenient location that would be easily accessible to most residents of the town.

As a result of this change, the drilling firm had to reschedule their work to another day to first conduct a another survey of the new location and assess the underlying properties to ensure it was a suitable site for drilling. We were originally scheduled to begin work on Monday as previously announced, but due to the change in location, the start date was pushed back.

Today, we began the first phase of the construction work by breaking ground. The primary focus of this phase is drilling, and we are pleased to report that the work was carried out successfully. The drilling process started early in the morning and was followed by a series of other installation including pipes and electric pump.

The drilling process was smooth and efficient. After the installation of the pump, the next step is to flush out all the dirt and debris to pave the way for clean water. This process can take sometime to ensure access to the cleanest water possible.

The upcoming phase of the project will be the second phase, which involves making the underground water accessible. This will entail constructing a wall to support the four taps and a tower to house the water tank. Piping work will also be done to connect the water from the borehole to the water tank. After completing these stages, tiling work will be done to give the facility a new appearance, and finally, the Hive Plaque will be installed to signify the completion of the project.

The final phase of the project will be an event to showcase the impact of the Hive in Ghana, and we are excited to have the opportunity to share it with Ghanaians and the world. We are pleased to report that the project is progressing steadily and we aim to complete all work and launch the event next week.

The people of Kyekyebon are thrilled to be using the mechanised borehole, and they believe that it will significantly help them overcome the water challenges in the area. The chief and town leaders have been very helpful and cooperative throughout our engagements with them to ensure the success of the project. We will continue to update the Hive community on any new developments regarding the project phases to keep everyone informed. We are grateful for your support in this noble cause. Thank you all.

This is so exciting, keep up the great work 🙌

Why wasn't the best location selected from the beginning, by the way???

Thank you for your support, @wrestlingdesires. When it comes to determining the location of the borehole within a town, the community leaders play a significant role as they allocate the land for its construction. They realised that the current location would be more convenient than the previous one given, and that's why they decided to change the location.

Amazing as always.

Always curious how much Hive it takes to build one borehole?
