Mass Indoctrination Session on Prayer Day 5- 14th January 2022

To all brethren and members of the Church of God International, I extend my greetings. Today, I was given another chance to participate in the mass indoctrination session, and I took advantage of it to learn. Still on prayer, I discovered a lot more, which I will share with you in this piece.

From the previous sessions of prayer, we learn about what we need to do for our prayers to be answered. Today's session helped us to discover other part of our bodies we should submit to God for our prayers to be accepted:

Abstainance from sex and submitting to God for prayer and fasting

---

Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:4 that the husband and wife have no power over their bodies because they are one flesh. The wife's body is for her husband, and the husband's body is for the wife. God wants us to learn this so that our prayers would not be hindered.

In order to avoid interfering with their prayers, husband and wife must abstain from sex at times, particularly during fasting. Fasting and praying while abstaining from sex can assist married couples in submitting their bodies to God, but they should not deprive each other of sex unless both agree to cease for a brief period of time.

When is Fasting done?

Fasting is a very important act that help in making our prayers very effective but has to be done right. Fasting is an act that you do with prayer and the Bible teaches on the right way to fast in Isaiah 58:6.

God wants us to fast without sinning, fast by losing the bonds of the wicked and forgiving those who wrong us. In the period of fasting we should not deprive the needy of anything. For if we practice all the things that the Bible requires us to do our fasting coupled with prayers become effective.

Fasting as a spiritual exercise has even been proven scientifically to be very beneficial. Fasting for a few days can assist our entire system renew, rest, and make new white blood cells.

Fasting is incredibly effective , and during Christ's time, he taught more about how to fast properly (Matthew 6:17). Fasting should not be made public, as some churches do. Instead, it should be done privately. Christ taught us to fast without showing off with our attitudes that we are fasting

Wives submitting to Their Husbands

---

In 1 Peter 3:7, the Bible commands husbands to dwell with the wife according to knowledge in order not for their prayers to be hindered. According to knowledge means according to the word of God.

The Bible specifies the man's and woman's roles in Ephesians 5:23. The husband is the wife's head, just as Christ is the head of the church. As Christ offered himself for the church, the wife should submit to her husband's authority. Head covering is a sign of submission to authority

In 1 Corinthians 11:4, a woman who prays should have a covering on her head and when a man prays he shouldn't have a covering on his head. The meaning of the covering on the woman's head is the sign of authority over her.

So when a woman is praying she should have a covering on his head as a sign of showing respect to her head who is the man. The covering of the woman is her hair and not material covering that is sold. The hair is giving to a woman as a covering.

Husbands Loving Their wives As Their Own Bodies

In Ephesians 5:33, we discovered another command of God which requires the man to love his wife as his own body. For the man to show more love to the woman the woman must learn to submit and please the man in ways possible. Wives should show respect for their husband's.

Old Belief That was Improved By Listening To The Bible Studies:

All I've ever known is that you must abstain from sin and remain holy throughout your fasting period in order for your prayers to be heard. Though I am familiar with some of the Scriptures that Brother Eli required us to read during the teachings, I had no idea how important the relationship between a husband and wife can play a very important role when it comes to receiving answers to prayer. I realized that a wife who refuses to submit to her husband, just like a husband who refuses to love his wife, will hinder their prayers.

How the Study Can Make Us Better And How We Can Use In Our Daily Lives

Fasting and prayers is one of the essential spiritual exercise that we cannot do without. A lot of denomination commands their congregants to fast but do not teach by the word of God concerning the right way to fast and pray. The Teachings by brother Eli has been an eye-opening which will help us to fast and pray the right way henceforth and also help our request to be granted speedily.
