Bushwalking with two of my favourite people on the planet

I'm currently on holiday in Sydney with my partner in adventure (and life) @new.things. We've been visiting my Mum who I only get to see once or twice a year given that I now live interstate.

Since one thing my partner, myself and my Mum all have in common is a love of exploring the bush, today we went bushwalking.

It has been (very) windy the last couple of days but thankfully today it began to drop. Also, the tracks we chose in the National Park that's an easy drive from Mum's place were mostly out of the wind. It was actually pleasant!

We picked a couple of tracks to do and did only part of each one. On the first, a very step, technical trail, we walked out 1km and then back again. This meant that Brad and I could walk faster and Mum could go at the pace her aging body was up for.

On the second trail, an easier, flatter trail along the creek, we all walked together. Brad occasionally stopped for photos and then just caught up again. And we saw two goannas 🦎 and two lyre birds 🪶 It was pretty magical really.

As we headed back to the car for lunch I somehow zoomed ahead not realising that they had both stopped to read a sign about the local history. With the increased wind down by the water I couldn't hear that they weren't right behind me. And when I realised, I stood on a log and watched them meander their way towards me, chatting about something that interested them both but I could hear nothing of as the wind carried their words away.

I stood and appreciated that I had got to spend this precious day with two humans I love possibly more than anyone else.

All photos taken by @new.things except the photo of him 😂 Mum took that one and gave me permission to use it in this post.

This is a HiveBloPoMo post - Day 22.
