Community development service

Hello! This is my first time writing here, and I'm excited to share my thoughts with you all. I strongly believe that showing kindness to others is a way to express gratitude for the gift of life. Life itself is a gift and most show gratitude for it.
What else can we do as humans to our communities, environment, and place of work, than to show a little kindness to one another? You can gift a child a pair of shoes, a bag, or back-to-school items as a sign of good deeds. When I was a child my grandma made me give out all my old clothes, shoes, and bags to little children who could not afford them, so she could get me more. She makes sure I do that every time she has a plan to buy new things for me or I will not get new things at all. But funny as it is, I loved what she was doing and loved the impact so much. It has helped me as an individual to learn to give out things freely without being forced by anyone. Am going to impact that in my daughter as she grows.
I'm a member of the NYSC(National Youth Service Corp ) of Nigeria Rivers State, serving in a community secondary school and I'm also a member Community Development Service (CDS) education group, which is responsible for sharing knowledge and giving back to the host community, both formally and informally. Every Wednesday, our group meets up to impart knowledge within the community.

During our last visit, we hosted a community secondary school where we taught the children about the importance of personal hygiene. The school has primary, junior secondary, and senior secondary sections with a total of 2,457 students, excluding the primary section. We brought along plenty of gifts and materials for the students, as our community development service group always does. I feel privileged to be a member of this education community development service. It is our duty as humans to share love and kindness with everyone around us, without being forced or pressured.

This is my little way of showing love to the little ones around me. I hope you, too, show love to everyone around you to make the world a better, healthier, and safer place to live in.
