"Andante Tranquillo" from Sonata III - Felix Mendelssohn | Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 63

(Edited)

This is my entry for the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 63. I'm playing "Andante Tranquillo" from Sonata III by Felix Mendelssohn. @partitura commented on my entry last week that I played Buxtehude on the "totally wrong organ" (tongue in cheek of course 😁) so hopefully the Armley Schulze organ of St. Bartholomew, Leeds (UK) does justice to this beautiful Mendelssohn work.

The music is in the public domain and is available from IMSLP: https://imslp.simssa.ca/files/imglnks/usimg/b/bb/IMSLP129976-WIMA.5c92-Mendelssohn_3eSonate_2_Andante.pdf

Love your playing! Could listen to it day and night. Probably not night, haha! !organduo 500

Sounds better here on the Armley sample set than on the Velesovo sample set you used for Contrebombarde.

I agree. I had to work twice to get two recordings 😂

Now you need to play the first movement. I played this sonata at the beginning of my second year at the Lithuanian Academy of music. The hardest for me was the opening page...

I will present it when it’s ready. A work in progress 😷
