THE ORGAN OF ST. DAVID'S UNITING CHURCH, ALBURY | Chant du Soir - Marco Enrico Bossi

I am incredibly excited to share my first-time experience playing the organ at St David's Uniting Church in Albury (Australia). I have lived in Albury for most of my life and had not yet played this organ...until now! St David's Uniting Church, founded in 1858, has been a pillar of the Albury community for over 160 years. The church's striking Victorian Gothic architecture is a testament to the timelessness and elegance of this historic building. With its soaring spires, arched windows, and intricate stonework, the church is sight to behold in the Albury CBD.

The organ was provided and installed in 1927 by George Fincham & Sons, primarily using second-hand pipework and materials. The same firm rebuilt and significantly expanded the organ in 1969, and some electronic enhancements have been added.

I have recorded Bossi's "Chant du Soir" on the St David's organ where I demonstrate the gentler sounds of the instrument. In due course I will record more of the organ to demonstrate its full tonal capabilities.
