My Best Song: The Crossroads - Weekendengagement Topic

Out of the options in the weekend engagement post by @galenkp, I decided to go for the first one as I have this song that kept me carried away.

The only song I found so interesting and calm is the blues song. It takes me to another realm in life. When you listen critically to blues songs you must get carried away no matter the condition. This is because it is a medium whereby all the lyrics are heard directly. So while Reading, most people love listening to blues or any kind of the song but to me, I love listening to blues. This will inspire me to perform better in whatever I am doing at that particular moment.

The blues song that got me carried away and I so much loved is the Crossroads by Robert Johnson. It gives me joy while listening to this song. In this song, he made a deal with the devil which got him into what he did not expect. The truth is that we should not try to mingle or make any form of deal with the devil because the outcome will not be in our favour. When you see the devil coming through one path please take heel as you might get influenced by him. Everything about the devil is sad. It may be due in the beginning but the outcome is always not the best.

This means we should not allow the devil to get hold of the keys into our lives. This is the best as the devil is out there looking for whom to devour, but do not be the victim to it. Many people have passed through The devils and come out with sad news or even death. You might be progressing initially but in the end,d will be something else that might be so sad in your path to success. When you collect two from you his return is always triple.

Remember that when you are making sausage jealousy will always follow and this will bring you to a state of no return. The jealousy comes as a result of the devil's impact on your line of dealing or into your quest to make success.

Does this fall on the blues genre though? 🤔 Sounds cowboy-ish

Robert Johnson is probably the father of the blues. At least of the recorded Blues. That song was recorded in 1938.

It's a different vibe from what I know to be blues...I'm a 90s baby, don't mind me 😁

Ahahahahahaha. It's a straight line from there to here, but you almost have to follow it to see how it happened.

If you want to cheat for a couple of stops, listen to Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. Those three really changed the blues in the 50s and 60s.

Cowboy-ish? Nice one... but I do hear a lot of Blues and almost no cowboy stuff in this one. Though I can visualise a cowboy or two running around after their horses when listening to this Blues recording.

I love blues so much too, and to mention, ** Crossroads by Robert Johnson** That is a good one, blues can really calm ones nerve and make you see things clearly

There's no evidence that he made a deal with the devil-but the truth is nobody has been able to figure out his ability to double track a 6 string guitar. He was done in by a jealous husband.

I like Stevie Ray's version, and Clapton's. Joe Bonamassa's, too. It's a just big time standard in the genre now.

This is quite an oldie. Love the sound of the recording, so old school. Not too much familiar with the blues genre, since it's a lot about the lyrics that I usually never listen to. But this one is a known one to me and glad I see it posted by you.

Pact with the Devil: Well, I believe in balance so when making a pact with God, a pact with the Devil is a must in my book. Otherwise no balance. Without balance, all will fall apart at some stage ;)
