Hello Friends,

Splinterlands Weekly Challenge

Here I am back with another post trying to complete another Splinterlands Weekly Challenge and this time the challenge is to use Fire Splinter with Spark Pixies as one of the monsters.

Spark Pixies, a Rare Fire monster of Untamed category and has ranged attack capacity.

Here are the level-wise details of abilities, attack capacity of the monster.

image.png

It has 3 abilities viz. Flying, Stun and Dodging.

Let's see each of these abilities in detail:

image.png
Flying

Flying ability enables the monster to have a chance to evade the ranged or melee attack from monsters who aren't flying and particularly helpful during Earthquake scenario.
Best thing is, this ability is available from level 1 and this can be a good one when the Earthquake battles are there.

Stun

Stun ability deprives the stunned monster from next round attack and helps in extending the life of the monster which attacks.
Stun ability is available from level 5 (40 BCX).

Dodging

Dodging gives an increased chance of evading the attack from melee or ranged monsters.
Dodging ability is available from level 8, thus the card needs to be upgraded to level 8 with minimum of 115 BCX to avail this ability.

That's about the abilities of this monster and this comes with an attack of 2 from level 1 till level 5 and an attack of 3 from level 6 onwards.

It has a life of 2 in levels 1 and 2, a life of 2 in level 3 and remaining all levels till eighth have a life of 3.

We have seen the details of the card, abilities and life details at different levels.

Let's come to the point of attraction, a battle using Spark Pixies

Battle Link

Scenarios of the battle:

  • Target Practice:
Ranged and Magic monsters will attack with snipe ability thus attacking the second level monsters of opponent with Ranged and Magic abilities.

  • Little League:
With this, only monsters who have 4 or lesser MANA cap can be used in the battle.

Lineup:

  • Cerberus:
Used this as front monster because of it's melee and self healing ability and also since it can retaliate.

  • Furious Chicken:
Used this as a second line melee attack and also to avoid exposing my ranged attack monsters as this is a Target Practice battle.

  • Fire Beetle:
My first ranged attack monster with a shield to delay it's life reduction. This along with remaining 3 monsters form my Target Practice attack to attack the ranged and magic monsters of my opponent.

  • Fire Demon:
Fire Demon is a must when there is Target Practice battles since it's blast ability of attacking 2 or 3 monsters based on which position the magic or ranged monsters are used by opponent.

  • Spark Pixies:
Now comes our card of attraction as for as this post is concerned.
Spark Pixies isn't that particularly helpful with it's low level attack range of 2 with low level card, but since this battle is a Target Practice and also it's of Little League type, this card will help in attacking the ranged or magic cards along with Fire Beetle and Fire Demon.

  • Beetle Queen:
This is a must for it's ability to heal front card.
In this battle, since it's a magic monster, it also adds more teeth to the Target Practice attack.

Battle:

Before I update on round 1 of the battle, let me introduce to my opponent's splinter and cards.

The splinter used is Life and cards used in that order are: Crystal Werewolf, Silvershield Warrior, Divine Healer, Armorsmith, Highland Archer and Peacebringer.

Round 1:

So, it all started with my Spark Pixies attacking the Divine Healer and taking off the shield followed by Beetle Queen attacking the Healer.

By the end of round one, opponent's Divine Healer was taken off by range and magic cards of mine and this is how the cards were looking by end of round 1.

Round 2:

At the end of round 1 cards were like ....

When round 2 started, again the Spark Pixies led the attack this time to Highland Archer.

Round 2 completed with opponent losing Highland Archer and the Crystal Werewolf and my Fire Beetle as well was attacked by the opponent's ranged cards of Highland Archer and Peacebringer.

So, cards remaining by end of round 2:

Round 3:

Opponent just left with melee cards Silvershield Warrior and Armorsmith along with ranged attack card Peacebringer by end of round 2.

Round 3 saw opponent losing his Peacebringer and cards left were:

Round 4:

It was just a formality to finish off the opponent's Silvershield Warrior and Armorsmith and my melee and ranged cards along with magic of Beetle Queen powered those 2 cards down and thus giving me an easy victory.

  • Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?

Yes, considering the Target Practice and the Little League.

I think the cards were good enough, but Spark Pixies is definitely not the card which will be used in every battle whenever Fire splinter is used.

This is because, there are many other cards with 3 MANA which can give those 2 attack, so it depends like when to use this card.

  • Do I use SPARK PIXIES often? Why or why not?

Not really, The reason being, as I said, Fire splinter has many other ranged and magic cards which can give an attack of 2 with reduced MANA.

So, it's not a much used card by me.

Excellent content and formatting!

I agree, while they may not be the 'every time' card for fire, they certainly can help in specific situations. 🥰
