Greysmar Beach and scenic views along the coast

GreysmarBeach_LosCaracas.jpg

For days I have had pending to finish documenting my beach adventure of the last week of December. Two Wednesdays ago, I told you about the little walk we did in La Punta de Los Caracas. And on that occasion, I told you how the sea had gained ground in the area, and there was practically no beach left.

So after the walk, we went back to the car with the idea of looking for a beach to spend the day. Instead of turning back on the road, where we knew there are a few beaches, not my favorite to be honest because they tend to be more crowded, we decided that it was better to continue a little further on the road in search of a beach to spend the rest of the day.

And not so far, near La Punta, we found one. The beach from what I could find out is called Playa Greysmar.

The beach, like all the beaches in this part of the country, was very close to the mountains and had strong waves. It had an awning and chair rental services, and the best thing is that there were not many people and above all, there was no loud reggaeton.

We settled on the beach. The day was a bit cloudy, and the sun was not sweltering. And after having our picnic with the salad and fruits we had brought, sorry I didn't take pictures, my son and I strolled along the beach.

GreysmarBeach3.jpg

The beaches of this part of the country, besides having strong waves, also have many little stones, as in this part of the beach.

Here's a shadow that I couldn't resist capturing that would have been good to post in the Shadow Hunters. And another shadow as my son picked up some rocks from the sea because some of them were translucent and looked like pieces of glass. He picked up a few for his girlfriend, who couldn't join us that day.

We walked to the end of the beach. There were some rocks where the waves were crashing. And we went over to explore what was behind the rocks.

GreysmarBeach7.jpg

Behind the rocks, there was a small beach into which a stream flowed from the mountain.

GreysmarBeach8.jpg

Some children were swimming., and the water was crystal clear and seemed clean. In this part, on the mountain, there are no villages nearby, so surely there is no problem that the water could be contaminated.

And this is the view of the beach from the rocks. We had settled at the beginning of the beach, so we went back to walk along it.

GreysmarBeach10.jpg

We had a great day. We even swam a little in the sea despite the swell. Near the rocks, where the beach began, it was not so strong.

And at about four o'clock in the afternoon, we decided to leave since the services on the beach were working until that time.

We were pleased after a sunny day, although a bit cloudy, with sand and sea. On the way out, we passed in front of a couple of places to eat. They looked good to eat some fresh fish, but we did not stop because we had already eaten. Maybe next time.

We started our way back, and now I'll share with you some of the beautiful views that can be seen on the stretch of road that runs along the coast.

CarreteraALosCaracas2.jpg

This road has gorgeous views. When I was younger, I loved driving along it on the weekends. Now there is a good stretch of the road that has a bike path, and early in the morning, you can see cyclists training.

We stopped to take some pictures at a point where years ago, there was a restaurant that was almost in the sea. This place disappeared with a big tragedy that occurred more than 20 years ago. Some landslides of the mountain even made some populated areas of this area disappear forever. In the ruins of what is left of the place, there was a guy taking care of the site, who told us that the owners of the land want to put a spot there again. Let's hope so because the place is beautiful.

In this pic far in the background can be seen the place where the restaurant used to be and what is left of it.

The first village on the road is called Anare, and this is the view before reaching it.

CarreteraALosCaracas7.jpg

We had to cross the village, and I couldn't help taking a picture of this cat with beautiful eyes. It looked so comfortable on the roadside, even with some trash.

This is the view of a part where some beach clubs have marinas.

And the view when we were closer to the more populated area, where we took the short walk I told you about last week.

That's all for today of my beach adventure. This is also my post for this week's #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay in collaboration with #makemesmile hosted by @elizacheng.

That is absolutely gorgeous Super Eli and the scenery is pretty too 😎
The translucent rocks that Rorro has it that not sea glass, we get heaps here but then again it is a river not an ocean like there...
I thought you were taking a sibling for my naughty nephew!

I love this view and those big splashes of waves 😁.. The cat looks like a stray one. I hope it isn't.

The cat was a stray, no doubt.

What a lovely day by the sea, parts of your coastline looks just like ours here in SA. The sound of the waves crashing always is soothing not so!
Glad you were able to spend a relaxing day with your son Eli☺️

Hola Carolina! Feliz año. Mis mejores deseos para ti y tu familia este año. El oleaje es fuerte pero la playa esta muy bien, no está muy lejos de la entrada de Los Caracas, si alguna vez estás cerca, te la recomiendo, ¡Abrazos!

The place is beautiful, with extraordinary panoramic views, but that beach gives me dread, very brave and more when the waves were breaking on the rocks, so scary. A beach to just look at, I wouldn't swim for anything.

The swell was quite strong. Although on the sides, where there were rocks, they were like wave breakers, and you could get into the sea. The beach was beautiful and not crowded, which was also great. Thank you for stopping by :)
