The three of us among Christmas lights

Last evening we took a short walk to see some of the Christmas decorations in town. This week the doctor has told me that although I should continue to take it easy, I can start getting back into physical activity and start going for a walk. So instead of a short walk in the park, my husband suggested that we go out for a walk to see the Christmas atmosphere in the city and take the opportunity to walk for a while. So we went to Los Próceres because we had been told that it was all decorated for Christmas.

Los Próceres is a long promenade with monuments honoring the heroes of independence and is located near the largest military base in the city, so it is a very safe area to walk around. Some time ago, I wrote about this place in A walk around Paseo Los Próceres.

The streets near the place are decorated for Christmas with lots of lights. In one of the big avenues, we saw a big Nativity Scene while we were in the car.

When we arrived at Los Proceres, we parked near the square where the obelisk is and which is the beginning of the Promenade. There were many lights and two big Christmas trees.

I don't remember when was the last time I had seen the city so alive. It is the first time in many years. It wasn't only the pandemic, but also the darkest years of the economic crisis which had made Caracas become a dark city. So although we still have many problems, it is good to see that the city has life again.

The whole Promenade is illuminated. There were a lot of people walking around and taking pictures.

There were many tunnels of lights where people were taking selfies.

And we did the same.

I didn't want to get exhausted. So after a while of walking around, we went back to look for the car that we had parked in a very close shopping mall that has in front of it another long promenade of the city, called Paseo Los Ilustres, which is also fully illuminated with Christmas lights.

Before leaving the mall, we did not resist the temptation to eat some ice cream popsicles of crema real. A combination of vanilla ice cream covered with orange ice cream.

It was a perfect Wednesday Walk, the three of us together. And even though it's already Thursday, as better late than never, this is my post for this week's #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay in collaboration with #makemesmile hosted by @elizacheng.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you, Jesus!
The truth is that the place looks nice and people are enjoying it. But too bad they only seem to be efficient for decorating, and not for the things that really matter;)
Un gran abrazo y gracias por tus buenos deseos y todo el apoyo 🤗

Thats great news that you can get out for longer walks - sounds like progress !
And the lights looks awesome - quite nice indeed. I also noticed people are wearing t-shirts, so I guess its quite warm there just now. Our lights are up here too - but its bloomin freezing ! Today it was warmer - zero exactly !

Hey! Btw, You remind me of the actress Victoria Rowell 😀.
Do you know of her?

Oh, really? 😄
Her face is familiar to me, but I don't remember in which movie I have seen her.

She was most popular in The Young and the Restless TV series, Diagnosis Murder, As the World Turns, and The Cosby Show, and she's a motivational speaker, and a Ballerina. She's very sweet, poised, and glamourous. I met her many years ago here in Jamaica.

I may have seen her once on The Cosby Show, which I watched from time to time when I was a teenager. Is she from Jamaica?

No, she's an American as far as I know. However she grew up as an orphan (or was an adopted child), and in recent years she has been spending much time here in Jamaica, so there may be a Jamaican relation somewhere. I met her when she stayed at the resort I worked at many moons ago.

There is nothing more comforting than going for a walk and seeing the Christmas decorations. It is a relaxing and fun activity because the atmosphere is beautiful and invites us to take lots of pictures, for lovers of this art it is even more so. I'm glad you had a good time.

I'm glad that you started walking a little more and that you feel better. ❤️ Many greetings to you and your beautiful family.🤗 It's nice to see your city in a festive and lively mood. I still haven't had time to walk around and see the decorations of my city. I'm always at home because of children's viruses. 😊 Enjoy the holiday time with your son!
