Today there is an early kickoff for the match from Union against Bodo/Glimt. Especially this early in the season, I force myself to make preview on every single match so here are my thoughts on it...
Bodo/Glimt vs Union SG
Union so far this season Won the Super cup rather flattering against a better Club Brugge, They played a 3-3 draw at home against Bodo/Glimt showing that they no longer have the airtight defense and for today this arguable has gotten wose. They still have Chambaere as goalkeeper after Scherpen left and Koffi is not allowed to play yet. Sykes who was the tall guy in defense along with Sykes is injured and Leysen is not selected. So their defense is heavily hit with only really Mac Allister there and Van De Perre as good defensive midfielder. I do highly question Sylla / Havenaal / Patril / Chambaere. Over the weekend they also got a goal against versus a heavily weakened Westerlo but eventually won with 1-5 as they remain super efficent on the attacks. khalaili got a transfer and won't be there along with Rodriguez and El Hadj is not selected. At the same time, they still have enough quality up front with Zorgane back after a small injury. Bodo has a very strong home record and is unbeaten there in the last 12 matches on the artificial pitch. 11 of their last 12 matches also went over 2.5 goals. Last weeks match didn't start as a wide-open encounter and the goals mainly came because of high efficiency. I do expect for the Home team to take the initiative in a cautious and for Union to try to exploit the counters. It likely will take a goal before things get put wide open. So I'm going to keep an eye open on a potential over bet if the line reaches Over 2 and I'm also watching Bodo on the 1st half corners as thei won all 6 of their last home matches with at least 3 corners and this is a match that should be a setup for home corners. My only option when choosing a side is also the home team given their strog record and the fact that Union clearly is weakened today. For now, I see no rugh to get in and I will just wait it out.
