Playoff 2 Standings

Westerlo vs Cercle Brugge

With 5 more matches to go for these teams with 5 points behind on Gent in playoff 2 where only the winner will be granted a European Ticket, it's mathematically still possible for especially Cercle only if they win today since they have 2 matches against Gent to play. In reality though, I don't think any of these teams will have much belief and in poast years similar situations turned into many goal fest games. However, Cercle Coach last week hammered on the defense in a match that stayed 0-0 and where both teams failed to create a lot. In his press conference this week he also stated that their defensive effort was top and they aim to bring that again with the same organized structure. I do see Cercle as a team with a good form right now. Westerlo on the other hand seems to have had their best period behind them and they are without a win in their last 5 matches of which 4 were draws. Today for both teams only the win can be good enough and I especially see this manifest itself in the 2nd half. The odds on cercle feel like they have gone a bit too far making them the -0.25 favorite but at the same time, I understand where it is coming from given that Westerlo looks beyond their top and are also without their 2 strikers Vaesen & Vetokele. I will just wait to see what the batch brings in-game so No Pre-Game Bets
Playoff 1 Standings

Antwerp vs Racing Genk

The race for the championship is wide open between Genk, Union & Antwerp as they are within 2 points of each other. This match today is between teams that have opposing styles. Antwerp tends to be boring with an eye to keep things closed in defense and enough quality offensively to finish the rare chances at a high rate. Genk tends to score freely but also rarely keeps a clean sheet. If anything I see Antwerp just keeping their style and Genk possibly adjusting taking less risk out of fear to getting countered. Antwerp in the regular season won with 0-1 away but Genk won with 1-3 away in a match where they were very efficient. This also is one of those matches were a draw would not be a bad result for both teams as Genk would stay in the lead after a difficult away match while Antwerp very much remains in the title race. Based on this, I had to take 0.2 units on Draw @ 3.818. The total line and odds for me are also worth the gamble to bet on a match where pressure will be high with the fear to lose bigger than the will to win. 0.25 units on Under 2.75 @ 1.966 is the 2nd bet I took while keeping the option open to get out of it in-game if needed. I also took a tiny 0.05 unit bet on Genk +0.5 @ 1.895 while keeping an eye out on the corners handicap for Genk.
