I since long had a somewhat bigger bet yesterday but it ended up losing so it doesn't really help with the confidence I'm still searching right now. It was still a profitable day regardless which I'm hoping to build on for the 4 matches on Sunday. I don't have much time left before the start of the first match so I'm keeping notes very basic today.
Genk vs Club Brugge
Both are top teams that are currently in a poor form. Genk seems to have lost their offensive edge while Club Brugge just isn't the oiled machine anymore. I do still rank Club Brugge higher and understand why they are the -0.25 favorite today. This math both has the potential with 2 teams starting out with high pace and intensity or with 2 teams cautious making sure they are not getting behind. I am comfortable with a 0.3 unit bet on
1st Half Under 1.25 @ 1.949 with an option to possibly trade out of it early on if the pace is too high right from the start.
Zulte-Waregem vs Beerschot
Zulte-Waregem has been a mixed team at times putting up ok performances while other times just being nowhere whatsoever. They actually performed well against their Asian handicaps especially away from home so it's not that the lacking performance is not fully calculated into their lines. Beerschot finally found some form and started a winning streak now with 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 games. They are just 5 points behind on Zulte-Waregem so nerves should be quite high for this match more so for the home team. The main statistic that stands out is the 2H goals at 3.38 (79.4%) for Zulte-Waregem & 2.86 (71.4) for Beerschot. A slow cautious 1st half with things breaking wide open after the first goal is the scenario that looks the most likely. both are 11W-4L on over corners this season so that also is an option. I am leaning toward Zulte-Waregem as the home underdog but I don't really like to oppose the situation to oppose the team in a winning streak who are just behind in the rankings. Also Important defender De Bock is suspended for Zulte which is a big blow. Plenty of live betting potential in this match
No Pre-Game Bets
AA Gent vs Standard
AA Gent took somewhat of a surprise loss in the Conference League but they also benched a lot of A-Squad players with an eye on the more important match against Standard. AA Gent only took 1 loss in their last 5 league matches which was against Union totally against play and they are in a good form. Standard somehow managed to not lose in their last 5 matches despite still not really showing the needed quality. Their win over Eupen last week was also very flattering. My only option in this match is to side with the home team and the big question is how far the -1 line is fully adjusted to the situation. I did a take an initial bet on
AA Gent 1st Half -0.25 @ 1.793 (0.2 units) and will be looking for some live action on AA Gent corners when betting limits are better at the start of the game as I do see it mostly being 1-way at the start with Standard mostly luring on the counters. There should be better betting options down the line in case AA Gent doesn't get a lead in the 1st half or when they get behind.
Antwerp vs Oostende
Oostende suffered a 1-7 home defeat against Union just showcasing horrible defense. They are a team that has shown a good mindset though and always tend to keep fighting and believing in their chances despite having lost a ton of quality compared to last season. Antwerp on the other hand has played below their capabilities in terms of overall quality that they have been putting on the pitch even though they did manage to take the points. They did lose last week against Stvv away with 2-1 on an artificial pitch. The quality difference should be too big today between these 2 teams and a home win would be the most logical result. The -0.75 line surely is tempting but I want to wait for some in-game confirmation first and will just stay away from any bets for now.
