There are just 2 more weeks before the Winter Break and for the season to be at around the half mark. This is one of those weeks where I expect good things and some bigger bets as I do see some value which my no means is a guarantee for profit as in the past, weeks when I felt similar turned out to be big deceptions multiple times. I'm looking forward to see how it will al play out starting today with the match between Charleroi and Genk...
Charleroi vs Racing Genk
Charleroi saw coach De Mil go and had 2nd Coach Cornelis (for now) take over who did ok against Union where they took a draw last week in a match where defense was better than the offense. Charleroi lost a lot of quality compared to last season and it also continues to show in the results as they mainly have a hard time to score ranging around the lower regions of the created xg standings with just 1.08 on average in the last 4 matches which they all failed to win. So the momentum isn't exactly on their side. At just 1.5W-6.5L-1P against the Total over line, they are an underish team and they rank high on the ranking of teams with low xg against in 2d place. Genk has had a difficult season so far and are in 7th place (5 places higher than Charleroi) mainly because they lost some key offensive quality with Tolu while their coach (who got fired this week) still played a system depending on him which left them vulnerable defensively and with not enough quality offensively. This combined with the fact that they play in Europe and pick up some fatigue left them underperforming so far. They still have a top 3 Squad though who should be more than capable. This is the first match after the coach got fired which always sparkes up some kindof shock effect and effort from the players who want to make sure they will get their spot from the new coach. Genk also had a full week break which should have done them some good. I see a good chance of Genk finding their way again and picking up a winning streak to secure their spot in the top 6 where they belong. The line seems to be too much set based on the results so far while especially in away games they tend to be better while it was at home where they never managed to beat their asian handicaps. I took 0.6 units on
Genk +0 @ 1.835 which feels like a rather safe bet given that they have more quality and there is a possible coahc change shock effect. Genk also still ranks quite good in both xg for and against. I also expect Genk to be the team with most of the initiative early on and took 0.08 units on
Genk 1H +0 Corners @ 1.890. I'm also leaning toward the Genk corners Team total Over 4 if that line would hit in-game as Charleroi at home only managed to stay below that on corners against twice on the season and Genk always but once managed to create at least 4.
