Week 3 of the playoffs starts today with 1 low-profile match between 2 teams who pretty much have nothing left to play for.

Sint-Truiden vs Standard

So Stvv is 4 points behind on AA Gent for the Playoff 2 win so for them it is still possible. They started these playoffs with 2 winning matches in a row. This was a 2-0 win over Westerlo at home in a match where they had 80% possession in the first half getting the 1-0 lead on a deflected ball followed by a 2nd half that wasn't as good. Away against Mechelen it turned out in a crazy 2-3 match with a scenario where their coach hoped for e 0-0 around minute 60 to bring in players at the end to get the win. He made strange choices to start putting Kaya who has yet to score this season as the striker and Steuckers on the bench. After getting 2-0 behind they fully went for it while Mechelen was nowhere and they managed to turn it around. So the big question remains how much they still believe and want to win playoff 1 given the strange line-up last week. At home though, I do expect the best 11 to start. Standard is a total mess right now starting with a 5-1 loss away against Gent where especially in the 2nd half they were nowhere and a boring 0-0 draw at home against Leuven in a match that was played without fans. Defenders Fossey, Ngoy, and Vanheusden are injured and their best player by far Alzate was benched last week because he no longer has the drive to go for it. At this point the only real option for me is to take Stvv but I want to see the starting line-up first making sure I'm not hit by a surprise. The only option in these matches with nothing to play for on the totals is the over as many of them end up with 5+ goals. I however don't really trust the scoring capabilities of both teams and would see a wide-open match first. I do expect Stvv to have the ball and slowly try to go forward with Standard over 90 minutes not nearly being good enough to have a chance to win it. No Pre-Game Bets
