Splinterlands | Close Range Battle Challenge

The Game Rules keep coming in the Share Your Battle Challenge which is also called the Battle Mage Secrets for Splinterlands. This is the Close Range Rule!

What I wrote about this Game Rule the last time around was:

Pretty much nothing changed really with extra rules added along with a ton of new cards since last time. Generally I just completely ignore this rule and go what I believe is the most powerful lineup. Cards that can be included however are the Legendary Cornealus or monsters with the headwinds ability since you can anticipate your opponent to play at least some ranged monsters.

The 2 other game rules for this battle were that only class cards could be used with no armor. It was a pretty straightforward choice for my most played deck which is the Possibilus Melee stack which also includes some Anti-Magic.

Especially with no Armor allowed, the Possibilus Summoner which gives all monsters Trample can be extremely powerful. So that was what I was focused on starting with Tha Kraken despite knowing it would lose some armor due to the game rules. The Baakjira With self-heal, anti Magic and Reach +4 Melee attack thanks to buffs from the Kulu Mastermind and the Pirate Captain. The Kulu Mastermind for the Water Team is a real powerhouse even at level 2 where it gets the shield ability. The Deeplurker also remains a must-play cards for the Water team especially with the Trample ability and also the game rule where no Armor is allowed. After that, the Ruler Of The Seas also continues to be a super powerful cards most of all because of the Silence ability as Magic is the main counter of any Melee Possibilus team. To end the line-up I had multiple choises and I opted to increase the melee attack on 4 of my monsters by +1 with the Pirate Captain.

This one turned out in a really easy win as my opponent too much tried to play into the Ranged attack narrative.
