Social Media Challenge: Moribund Arrowbait and His Sacred Sacrifice

In this space, I dedicate myself to telling you everything about Splinterlands and taking this opportunity, I'd like to say that I'm participating in another week of the Social Media Challenge. My choice this week is based on how often I've been using this card in my battles. Moribund Arrowbait may seem harmless initially due to its low health attributes, but know that it plays a significant role during battle, and I'll explain more about it throughout the article. Considering its history, I believe it may be one of the bravest and most resilient units in the entire Splinterlands universe. Its strength inspires everyone, and if it falls, the other Ulund become stronger, as its death will never be in vain. If you want to read about its Lore, just click here. 🛡️ Attributes and Abilities Based on Maximum Level
After learning a little more about its incredible history, let's observe and analyze what makes Moribund Arrowbait a very important card for your battle strategies. I'll start by saying that this unit is a legendary card and belongs to the Life element. Its Bloodline is Ulund, a species of warrior hippopotamus. Now let's see how the details of its attributes are presented:
Mana: Its cost is only 4;
Health: It has 2 health points;
Magic Attack: Its magic attack is 1;
Language Attack: Its attack is 2;
Speed: Its speed is 3.
All its abilities are:
Bloodline Tribute: Upon defeat, all allied units of the same Bloodline gain +1 to their attributes and +1 power for each type they possess, in this case +1 ranged and +1 magic.
Relentless Strike: If the enemy has the Void, Shield, or Forcefield ability, it receives +1 damage.
Rebirth: Upon defeat, it is resurrected once, returning with only 1 health. All negative effects are removed and positive effects are restored.
🧩 Bloodline Tribute: A Powerful Combo
As you can see, we're dealing with a 4-mana card whose function is literally to be defeated so that its allies gain more power. If you use this unit at its maximum level, you can make your cards from the same Bloodline even stronger. Knowing how to use it in your strategies, you can gain a slight advantage over your opponent.
All this is thanks to its Bloodline Tribute ability. It's important to identify cards that have this type of ability because you can achieve great combos that can help you win a battle that might seem impossible. Here are the cards in the Conclave Arcana that have this important ability in the game.
⚔️ It's time for the Battle
We've reached the action part, where I demonstrate how Moribund Arrowbait can be very useful when you know how to best utilize its abilities. For this battle, the mana cost is 19, which isn't considered high, but it's possible to create good formations even with low mana. Only the Water and Death elements were unavailable. We will use three modifiers:
Deflection Field: All units possess the Deflection ability.
Wands Out: Only units with magic attacks are allowed in battle.
Earthquake: Units that do not possess the ability to fly suffer 2 damage to their health.
My Archon that I used was Bella Ratajowlski, an Ulund unit that gives me a great advantage in battle because for each allied Ulund she receives the Shield ability, which allows me to receive 50% less melee and ranged physical damage. For all units, regardless of their Bloodline, they receive the Deflect ability, and honestly, because of this specific ability, I consider her one of the most important Archons among all those we can use in Modern Mode. No damage is caused by Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire, and Blast Splash.
My team formation was fairly easy to choose, based on the low mana cost I had in this battle. My units are:
⚔️ Position 1: Moribund Arrowbait, whose purpose is to be "sacrificed" and make its Ulund allies stronger. Its purpose in being my temporary Tank is intentionally to be in the first position. I will be at a numerical disadvantage at the beginning of the battle, but that is precisely the intention.
⚔️ Position 2: Thunderous Herald is undoubtedly an impressive unit. Its Execute ability always makes me include it in my battles, so for this specific one, I'm placing it in the second position.
⚔️ Position 3: Calamity needs no introduction, a powerful unit that, even being of the Dragon element, is like a kind of wild card that we can use in all Bloodlines, as it possesses the Shapeshift ability.
In the ambush + round 1, I had problems at the beginning because of the ambush. My opponent had the Kelan Gaines and since it attacks twice, I lost my Thunderous Herald. As expected, I also lost Moribund Arrowbait and the battle had barely begun when I was outnumbered.
In round 2, Calamity was the only card I had, luckily it has the Last Stand ability and that makes it more powerful thanks to the sacrifice of Moribund Arrowbait.
In round 3, I was able to reduce the numerical disadvantage and now it was only a matter of time before victory was possible.
In round 4, Calamity delivered the coup de grâce, ending the battle in my favor. This makes all the sacrifice made Moribund Arrowbait worthwhile. An undeniable victory.

🛡️ Atributos e Habilidades Baseados no Nível Máximo
Após conhecermos um pouco mais a sua incrível história, vamos observar e analisar o que torna Moribund Arrowbait uma carta bastante importante para com suas estratégias de batalha. Já começo dizendo que esta unidade é uma carta lendária e pertence ao elemento Vida. Sua Bloodline é Ulund, uma espécie de hipopótamos guerreiros. Agora vejamos como os detalhes de seus atributos são apresentados:
Mana: Seu custo é apenas 4;
Saúde: Possui 2 pontos de saúde;
Ataque Mágico: Seu ataque mágico é 1;
Ataque de Longo Alcance: Seu ataque é 2;
Velocidade: Sua velocidade é 3.
Todas suas habilidades são:
- Bloodline Tribute: Ao ser derrotado, todas as unidades aliadas que são do mesmo Bloodline ganham +1 em seus atributos e +1 de poder para cada tipo que tiver, no caso +1 de longo alcance e +1 de magia.
- Relentless Strike: Se o inimigo tiver a habilidade Void, Shield ou Forcefield, ele recebe +1 de dano.

Se você usá-lo essa unidade no level máximo, poderá deixar ainda mais suas cartas que sejam do mesmo Bloodline ainda mais fortes. Sabendo utilizar em suas estratégias, você poderá ter uma leve vantagem sobre seu adversário.
Tudo isso é graças a sua habilidade Bloodline Tribute que a unidade possui. É importante identificar cartas que possuem esse tipo de habilidade porque você pode conseguir obter ótimos combos que podem te ajudar a vencer uma batalha que talvez possa parecer impossível. Aqui estão as cartas no Conclave Arcana que possuem essa importante habilidade no jogo.
⚔️ Chegou a hora da Batalha
Chegamos na parte da ação, onde demonstro como Moribund Arrowbait pode ser muito útil ao saber utilizar suas habilidades da melhor forma. Para essa batalha, o custo de mana é de 19, não é considerado alto, mas é possível criar boas formações mesmo com pouco mana. Apenas os elementos Águas e Morte não estavam disponíveis. Usaremos três modificadores que são:
- Deflection Field: Todas as unidades possuem a habilidade Deflection.
- Wands Out: Apenas unidades com ataque mágico é permitido na batalha.
- Earthquake: Unidades que não possuem a habilidade de voar, sofrem 2 de dano em sua vida.
Meu Arconte que usei foi Bella Ratajowlski, uma unidade Ulund que me dá uma grande vantagem em batalha porque para cada Ulund aliado recebe a habilidade Shield que me permite receber 50% de menos dano físico de corpo a corpo e de longo alcance. Para todas as unidades independente de seu Bloodline, eles recebem a habilidade Deflect e sendo sincero, por causa desta habilidade em específico, considero um dos arcontes mais importantes entre todos que podemos usar no Modo Modern. Nenhum dano é causado por Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire e Blast Splash.
Minha formação foi bastante fácil de escolher, baseado no pouco custo de mana que tive nessa batalha. Minhas unidades são:
⚔️ Posição 1: Moribund Arrowbait onde seu propósito é de ser "sacrificada" e deixar seus aliados Ulund mais fortes, seu propósito em ser meu Tank provisório é de estar de forma proposital na primeira posição. Ficarei em desvantagem numérica no início da batalha, mas a intenção é justamente essa.
⚔️ Posição 2: Thunderous Herald é sem dúvidas uma unidade impressionante. Sua habilidade de Execute me faz sempre colocar elas em minhas batalhas para essa em específico, deixo ela na segunda posição.
⚔️ Posição 3: Calamity dispensa comentários, uma poderosa unidade que mesmo sendo do elemento Dragão, ela é como uma espécie de coringa que podemos usar em todos os Bloodline, pois possui a habilidade Shapeshift.
Na emboscada + rodada 1, tive problemas no início por causa da emboscada. Meu adversário tinha o Kelan Gaines e como ele ataca duas vezes, Perdi meu Thunderous Herald. Como era de se esperar perdi também Moribund Arrowbait e mal a batalha começou, eu estava em desvantagem numérica.
Na rodada 2, Calamity era a única carta que eu tinha, felizmente ela possui a habilidade Last Stand e isso faz ela ser mais poderosa graças ao sacrifício de Moribund Arrowbait.
Na rodada 3, Pude diminuir a desvantagem numérica e agora era apenas uma questão de tempo para que a vitória seja possível.
Na rodada 4, Calamity deu o golpe de misericórdia fazendo com que a batalha terminasse ao meu favor. Isso faz com que todo o sacrifício feito Moribund Arrowbait tivesse valido a pena. Vitória incontestável.
Isso mostra que Moribund Arrowbait é muito importante ter em seu deck, sua relevância por conta de suas habilidades mostra o quão forte pode ser suas unidades por causa de seu sacrifício e isso pode significar vitória.
