Hola a todos. Bienvenidos una vez más a este espacio para compartir cada una de mis creaciones. Me encanta estar ocupada realizando manualidades. Esta vez se me ocurrió ponerle alegría y color a mis encendedores. Son elementos que siempre tengo en mi hogar, para usar en la cocina y también en las manualidades. Espero que estas ideas te sean útiles y decores tus yesqueros también. ¡Ahora te cuento todos los detalles!

Ayer cuando salí de compras recordé que mis yesqueros ya no estaban flamando mucho por lo que aproveché de comprar dos. En vista de que mi hermana también estaba necesitando decoré los dos. Estoy segura que le encantarán porque ella es muy coqueta en su cocina. Hace poco ella compró un encendedor en forma de pistola, pero no son de buena calidad así que este será un buen regalo para ella.

Hello everyone. Welcome once again to this space to share each of my creations. I love to be busy making crafts. This time it occurred to me to put joy and color to my lighters. They are elements that I always have in my home, to use in the kitchen and also in my crafts. I hope you find these ideas useful and decorate your tinderboxes too, now I'll tell you all the details!

Yesterday when I went out shopping I remembered that my tinderboxes weren't flaming much anymore so I took the opportunity to buy two. Since my sister was also in need I decorated them both. I am sure she will love them because she is very flirty in her kitchen. She recently bought a lighter in the shape of a gun, but they are not of good quality so this will be a nice gift for her.

Haciendo uso de los materiales que tengo disponible me dispuse a crear dos diseños llamativos y de alegres colores.

Making use of the materials I have available, I set out to create two eye-catching and colorful designs.

Los materiales que usé son:

• Encendedores de bolsillo.
• Hilo matizado brillante.
• Ligas de colores.
• Pegamento.
• Tijeras.
• Fimmo. Carita feliz.
• Abalorio. Corazón.
• Confetty.
• Pinzas.

The materials I used are:

• Pocket lighters.
• Shiny shaded yarn.
• Colored rubber bands.
• Glue.
• Scissors.
• Fimmo. Smiley face.
• Beads. Heart.
• Confetty.
• Tweezers.

MODELO N°1

• Para este modelo usé 3 metros de hilo muy delgado. Lo primero que hice fue comprobar que pasará por el orificio del fimmo y el abalorio.
• Luego metí el hilo por la carita y el corazón. Para que no se despegara la parte que da brillantez al hilo coloqué un poco de pegamento en la punta.

MODEL N°1

• For this model I used 3 meters of very thin thread. The first thing I did was to check that it will pass through the hole of the fimmo and the bead.
• Then I put the thread through the face and the heart. So that the shiny part of the thread would not come off, I put a little glue on the tip.

• Con este hilo matizado envolví todo el encendedor. Coloqué un poco de pegamento en la orilla inferior del encendedor, posicioné la punta del hilo y procedí a enrollar procurando que cada vuelta de hilo quedaran juntas.

• With this dyed yarn I wrapped the entire lighter. I placed a little glue on the lower edge of the lighter, positioned the tip of the thread and proceeded to wind it up, making sure that each turn of thread was together.

• A una altura determinada coloqué el corazón. ES MUY IMPORTANTE YA TENER PENSADO EL ORDEN EN QUE IRÁN LOS ABALORIOS AL MOMENTO DE PASARLOS POR EL HILO. Luego de fijar el corazón continué enrollando.
• En la parte superior del encendedor coloqué el fimmo, este lo dejé un poco suelto hasta completar las dos vueltas siguientes. Después apreté para sujetar bien.

• At a certain height I placed the heart. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE ALREADY THOUGHT ABOUT THE ORDER IN WHICH THE BEADS WILL GO WHEN PASSING THEM THROUGH THE THREAD. After fixing the heart I continued winding.
• At the top of the lighter I placed the fimo, I left it a little loose until completing the next two turns. Then I tightened it to hold it well.

• Para cerrar la última vuelta coloqué un punto de pegamento y allí dejé pegada la hebra antes de cortarla. ¡Se ve muy bonito este modelo!

• To close the last loop I placed a glue stitch and left the yarn there before cutting it. This pattern looks very nice!

MODELO N°2

• Para hacer este modelo utilicé las ligas de colores. Aquí en Venezuela usamos estas ligas para hacer los moños en el cabello de las niñas y recogerlos. Es muy sencillo, fui metiendo cada una de las ligas procurando que quedaran juntas unas de otras. Alternando los colores.

MODEL N°2

• To make this model I used the colored rubber bands. Here in Venezuela we use these rubber bands to make the bows in the girls' hair and to gather them. It is very simple, I put each one of the rubber bands, making sure that they are close to each other. Alternating the colors.

• Empecé desde la parte de arriba y al llegar abajo dejé un espacio sin cubrir. Luego elegí entre los confetty que tengo. Estos confetty son figuras muy pequeñas elaboradas de un material similar al metal o al aluminio. Coloqué pegamento en la parte de arriba sin liga y pegué tres corazones muy pequeños. Se notan porque brillan.
• También pegué en el cuerpo del encendedor los confetty que puedes ver en la foto. ¡Así queda terminado este modelo!

• I started from the top and when I got to the bottom I left a space uncovered. Then I chose from the confetty I have. These confetty are very small figures made of a material similar to metal or aluminum. I put glue on the top with no glue and glued three very small hearts. They are noticeable because they glow.
• I also glued on the body of the lighter the confetty that you can see in the photo. This is how this model is finished!

Ambos me gustan mucho. No debemos preocuparnos de que se quemen porque estos encendedores solemos usarlos muy poco. En mi caso solo los uso para encender las hornillas de la cocina y quemar las puntas de los hilos en las manualidades.

I like both of them very much. We don't have to worry about them burning because we don't use these lighters very often. In my case I only use them to light the stove burners and burn the ends of the threads in the crafts.

De pronto se me ocurre decorar unos para los padres en su día. A ellos generalmente no les falta un yesquero en el baúl y guantera del carro o en el bolsillo del pantalón. ¿Sería buena idea para regalar? 🤔 Espero que sí. Mi papá siempre tenía un yesquero y un pañuelo, como todo un caballero. Nunca se sabe cuándo es el momento de atender a una dama en apuros. Él adquirió el mal hábito de fumar, fue la verdadera razón de cargar con su enecendedor, luego dejó de fumar, pero su yesquero siguió estando en su bolsillo de la camisa.

Suddenly it occurs to me to decorate some for fathers on their day. They usually don't lack a tinderbox in the trunk and glove compartment of the car or in the pocket of the pants. Would it be a good gift idea? 🤔 I hope so. My dad always had a tinderbox and a handkerchief, like a true gentleman. You never know when it's time to attend to a lady in distress. He picked up a bad habit of smoking, it was the real reason for carrying his lighter, then he quit smoking, but his tinderbox remained in his shirt pocket.
