Lechuza alfiletero. Hecho a mano. 🦉 Pincushion owl. Handmade.

Feliz día para todos por aquí. Yo soy Lelys 🙋 me da mucho gusto saludarlos. Añoraba tener el tiempo para sentarme un rato y disfrutar de un encuentro conmigo, las telas, hilos y mis agujas. ¡Me hace mucha falta hacer esto! Me siento renovada, relajada, feliz y llena de entusiasmo cada vez que veo finalizado un proyecto. Me da energías para seguir creando.

Happy day to everyone around here. I'm Lelys 🙋 it gives me great pleasure to greet you. I was longing to have the time to sit down for a while and enjoy a meeting with me, the fabrics, threads and my needles. I really need to do this! I feel renewed, relaxed, happy and full of enthusiasm every time I see a project finished. It gives me energy to keep on creating.

El proyecto de hoy me encanta. Hace poco me pasó algo loco. Fui a la tienda a comprar un hilo de coser y pedí adicional un estuche de agujas. Cuando llego a la casa y abro el costurero me doy cuenta que ya tenía uno nuevo recién comprado. Lo olvidé estando en la tienda y traje otro 🤦 por lo que decidí repartir estas agujas en varios alfileteros y así conseguirlos por todas partes en la casa.

Para hacer mi nuevo alfiletero utilicé los materiales disponibles:

🦉 Telas.
🦉 Aguja de coser.
🦉 Hilo de coser.
🦉 Tijeras.
🦉 Moldes en cartón.
🦉 Algodón para rellenar (guata)
🦉 Ojos plásticos.
🦉 Pegamento.
🦉 Broche.

I love today's project. Something crazy happened to me recently. I went to the store to buy a sewing thread and asked for an extra needle case. When I get home and open the sewing box I realize I already had a new one just bought. I forgot it while at the store and brought another one 🤦 so I decided to spread these needles out in several pincushions and get them everywhere in the house.

To make my new pincushion I used the materials available:

🦉 Fabrics.
🦉 Sewing needle.
🦉 Sewing thread.
🦉 Scissors.
🦉 Cardboard molds.
🦉 Cotton for stuffing (wadding).
🦉 Plastic eyes.
🦉 Glue.
🦉 Brooch.

🦉 Miren que lindura de Lechuza pude hacer con tan pocos materiales. Espero poder hacer pronto una nueva compra de telas para hacer de variados colores.

🦉 Look what a cute little owl I was able to make with so few materials. I hope to be able to make a new purchase of fabrics soon to make in a variety of colors.

🦉 Yo elegí hacer una Lechuza, pero podemos hacerlos de la figura que mejor nos plazca. Este proyecto puede adaptarse fácilmente a cualquier diseño.

🦉 I chose to make an owl, but we can make them in any shape we like. This project can easily be adapted to any design.

🦉 Mi telita marrón estampada me sirvió para hacer todo el cuerpo de la lechuza. Lo saqué doble, encaré por el reverso, cosí cuidadosamente.

🦉 I used my brown patterned fabric to make the whole body of the owl. I took it out double, faced the back, stitched carefully.

🦉 Después le di vuelta a la lechuza. No cosí todo completo, dejé abierto los espacios para poder coser el broche y otro más pequeño para meter el relleno.

🦉 El broche se cose uno a cada lado del interior de la Lechuza, tomando un solo pliego de la tela. Después se hace el dobladillo hacia adentro y se cierra con costura esa abertura.

🦉 Metí todo el algodón hasta las orejitas sin presionar mucho. Después cosí esa abertura.

🦉 Then I turned the owl over. I didn't sew all the way around, I left open spaces to be able to sew the brooch and another smaller one to put the stuffing in.

🦉 The brooch is sewn one on each side of the inside of the owl, taking a single sheet of fabric. Then the hem is hemmed inward and that opening is sewn closed with stitching.

🦉 I tucked in all the cotton up to the little ears without pressing too hard. Then I sewed that opening.

🦉 En el interior del alfiletero quise realizar un diseño de doble corazones también en tela. Uno más grande que el otro. Los uní con pegamento y luego los pegué dentro de la Lechuza.

🦉 Es importante que quede bien pegado. Si es posible mejor se cosen. Para que luego las agujas que guardemos no los aflojen.

🦉 Igualmente con el broche. Debe estar muy bien cosido para que con el abrir y cerrar no se despegue.

🦉 On the inside of the pincushion I wanted to make a double hearts design also in fabric. One larger than the other. I glued them together with glue and then glued them inside the Owl.

🦉 It is important that it is well glued. If possible it is better to sew them together. So that later the needles we keep do not loosen them.

🦉 Likewise with the brooch. It must be very well sewn so that with the opening and closing does not come unstuck.

🦉 Solo dispongo de telas unicolor de estos colores, aproveché la tela blanca y rosa vieja para hacer los detalles de la Lechuza.

🦉 Hice la parte blanca de sus ojos con tela pop y sobre ellos pegué los plásticos. Además marqué y bordé sus pestañas con hilo marrón.

🦉 Con la tela pop color rosa vieja hice un lazo y el pico.

🦉 I only have unicolor fabrics in these colors, I took advantage of the old white and pink fabric to make the details of the Owl.

🦉 I made the white part of his eyes with pop fabric and on them I glued the plastics. I also marked and embroidered her eyelashes with brown thread.

🦉 With the old pink pop fabric I made a bow and the beak.

🦉 Así se ve terminado mi nuevo alfiletero. Uno más por si en algún momento se me olvida dónde están los otros 🤭

🦉 This is how my new pincushion looks finished. One more in case I forget where the others are 🤭.

¡Estoy feliz! Me gusta mucho como se ve sobre el estuche de mis agujas 😍 espero que se animen y hagan unos para ustedes. En dos o tres horas, sin mucha prisa se hace este modelo. Nos vemos pronto, si Dios quiere con otro nuevo proyecto.
