Hola amigos. Yo soy Lelys, estoy muy feliz de estar de nuevo con ustedes. El día de hoy quiero mostrarles el resultado final de mi lindo proyecto. Lo realicé motivada por una niña que se acercó a preguntarme si los caracoles africanos eran peligrosos.
Estábamos caminando por el parque rumbo a las bodegas, buscando mejores precios de los productos ya que aquí en Venezuela 🇻🇪 hay nuevamente una distorsión en los costos increíble. Cruzando el parque vimos muchos caracoles muertos, bastante grandes. La niña se acercó y me preguntó si ya estaban muertos y si eran peligrosos. Le respondí y ella se sintió más tranquila, tenía miedo de seguir caminando porque había muchos de estos regados en la grama.

Hello friends. I'm Lelys, I'm very happy to be with you again. Today I want to show you the final result of my beautiful project. I made it motivated by a little girl who came to ask me if African snails were dangerous.
We were walking through the park towards the warehouses, looking for better prices for the products since here in Venezuela 🇻🇪 there is again an incredible distortion in the costs. Crossing the park we saw many dead snails, quite big. The girl came up to me and asked me if they were already dead and if they were dangerous. I answered her and she felt calmer, she was afraid to keep walking because there were so many of these scattered on the grass.

Estos caracoles que hice son más bonitos, amigables y podemos tejerlos fácilmente. También son tiernos y divertidos. Me encantaría volver a ver a la niña para regalárselos. Te invito a ver el paso a paso para realizarlos.

🐌 Para realizar estos tiernos caracoles puedes usar los hilos de los colores que gustes, preferiblemente colores pasteles. Aguja de crochet, aguja lanera, tijeras, algodón, ojos plásticos.

🐌 To make these cute snails you can use any color yarn you like, preferably pastel colors. Crochet needle, wool needle, scissors, cotton, plastic eyes.

🐌 Elaborarlos es muy sencillo. Emplearemos los puntos básicos del crochet: punto bajo(pb), punto deslizado (pd), punto cadena (pc), anillo mágico (am), aumentos (aum) y disminuciones (dism)

🐌 Making them is very simple. We will use the basic crochet stitches: single crochet (pb), slip stitch (pd), chain stitch (pc), magic ring (am), increases (aum) and decreases (dism).

🐌 Haremos este lindo caracol por partes, luego las uniremos para formar la figura completa. Empezaremos por la cabeza, después el cuerpo y luego las antenas. Los ojos los colocaré al final del proyecto. Si vas a pegarlos no hay problema. Si vas a bordarlos hazlo antes de colocar el relleno. Igualmente si usarás ojos de seguridad debes ponerlos antes de rellenar y de cerrar la cabeza.

🐌 We will make this cute snail in parts, then we will join them together to form the complete figure. We'll start with the head, then the body, then the antennae. I will place the eyes at the end of the project. If you are going to glue them, no problem. If you are going to embroider them, do it before placing the stuffing. Also if you are going to use safety eyes you should put them on before stuffing and closing the head.

Los caracoles que vimos en el parque son los llamados caracoles africanos, son animales grandes, extraños para nosotros, su cuerpo es muy blando, feos y peligrosos. En épocas pasadas cuando ellos llegaron a nuestras casas se hicieron campañas en las escuelas y charlas en las comunidades sobre cómo protegernos de ellos. Lo más recomendable es rociarlos con sal comestible, moverlos y enterrarlos. No tocarlos. Aclarar siempre que no son caracoles comestibles. Son muy dañinos para las personas, ocasionan graves lesiones en la piel.

The snails we saw in the park are called African snails, they are big animals, strange to us, their body is very soft, ugly and dangerous. In the past, when they came to our homes, there were campaigns in schools and talks in the communities about how to protect ourselves from them. The most advisable thing to do is to sprinkle them with edible salt, move them and bury them. Do not touch them. Always clarify that they are not edible snails. They are very harmful to people and cause serious skin lesions.

🐌 Para realizarlos primero tejeremos la cabeza y parte del cuerpo. Todo en un mismo tejido. Se empieza con un am de 6pb. Luego se inician los aumentos hasta llegar a la vuelta de 3pb-1aum. Después se tejen cuatro vueltas de solo puntos bajos. Seguidamente empiezan las disminuciones desde 8pb-1dism hasta 4pb-1dism. Luego se tejen 24 vueltas de solo puntos bajos. Después tejemos más disminuciones desde 3pb-1dism hasta finalizar, alternando una vuelta de dism y una de solo puntos bajos. Cierra y remata. NO OLVIDES COLOCAR EL RELLENO SOLO EN LA CABEZA.

🐌 To make them we will first knit the head and part of the body. All in one weave. We start with an am of 6pb. Then you start the increases until you reach the round of 3pb-1aum. Then knit four rows of single crochet. Then begin decreases from 8pb-1dism to 4pb-1dism. Then knit 24 rows of single crochet. Then we knit more decreases from 3pb-1dism to the end, alternating one round of dism and one round of single crochet. Close and finish off. DO NOT FORGET TO PLACE THE FILLING ONLY IN THE HEAD.

🐌 Ahora tejeremos las antenas. Se inicia con un am de 6pb, luego se hace una vuelta de 1pb-1 aum. En la otra vuelta se teje 1pb-1dism. Desde la vuelta cuatro a la cinco se tejen solo pb. Ahora se tejen 1pb-1dism y se finaliza con dos vueltas de solo puntos bajos. Cerramos la vuelta y dejamos hebra para coser.

🐌 Now we will knit the antennae. You start with an am of 6pb, then knit a round of 1pb-1 aum. In the other round you knit 1pb-1dism. From the fourth to the fifth row knit only bp. Now knit 1pb-1dism and finish with two rows of single crochet. Close the row and leave yarn for sewing.

🐌 Seguidamente tejeremos la otra parte del cuerpo. Empezaremos con am de 6pb, seguimos con los aumentos hasta obtener 42 puntos bajos. Luego se tejen cuatro vueltas de solo puntos bajos. SE TEJEN DOS DE ESTAS PARTES IGUALES. En una se deja la hebra larga para coser. DEBEMOS RELLENARLA.

🐌 Next we will knit the other part of the body. We will start with am of 6pb, we continue with increases until we get 42 single crochet stitches. Then knit four rows of single crochet. KNIT TWO OF THESE PARTS EQUALLY. In one we leave the long strand for sewing. WE MUST FILL IT IN.

🐌 Al tener todas las partes tejidas procedemos a coserlas. Tomamos una hebra larga y vamos juntando con costura todas estas piezas. Finalmente colocamos los ojos plásticos. Adicional agregamos detalles en blanco en la coraza de su cuerpo. Estos detalles los tejí con un am de 8pb. Los pegué con silicón caliente.

🐌 When we have all the parts knitted we proceed to sew them together. We take a long thread and we sew all these pieces together. Finally we place the plastic eyes. Additionally we add white details on the armor of his body. I knitted these details with an 8pb am. I glued them with hot silicone.

🐌 Debemos enseñar a los niños a respetar a los animales. Ya sean por el peligro que representan y/o por la preservación de las especies. Así me ha quedado este lindo caracol, indefenso y hermoso.

🐌 We must teach children to respect animals. Whether for the danger they represent and/or for the preservation of the species. This is how I got this cute snail, helpless and beautiful.
