Hola amigos míos, feliz día para todos. Otra semana más para desarrollar nuestros proyectos pendientes. Ya van quedando pocos días para exponer el proceso y los resultados finales de las labores realizadas. Sinceramente yo tengo una lista bastante larga 🙂 obviamente no podré concluir ni la mitad 😃 sin embargo me estoy esforzando por avanzar un poco más. Es por ello que hoy voy a presentarles mi tercer avance 👏 me hace muy feliz haberme dedicado al fin y ver este proyecto terminado. Los invito a leer los pormenores de mi labor 🤭

Hace unos meses, desde el año 2022 por ahí como en el mes de octubre empecé a recibir donativos de parte de la familia del padre de mis hijos. No es la primera vez que me donan 😌 ya que a mi me encanta recibirlas. Se trata de sacos de ropa usadas 😳 aquí en Venezuela le llamamos "chivas". La mayoría de esta ropa está en buenas condiciones. Cuando me las traen yo reviso con calma y voy seleccionando lo que me gusta y me sirve y lo que no. Luego me voy a donde mi hermana y mi mamá, ellas también seleccionan entre el montón la ropa que les gusta y les sirve. El año pasado mi mamá fue la que salió ganando porque había en el saco muchas blusas, faldas largas y pantalones que ella acomodó a su medida. Mi mamá, ya les he contado, es costurera empírica, le encanta coser. Ha sacado mucho provecho de estas donaciones.

Empezando el mes de diciembre recibí una bolsa pequeña de ropa que seleccionaron para mí antes de rellenar los sacos para donar. Allí habían pantalones y blusas, suéteres y dos vestidos.

La mayoría de esta ropa está en excelentes condiciones. Mi NeedleWorkYourBucketList 🧵 de hoy es para dedicarme a remendar y ajustar a mi medida aquellas prendas que lo requieren. Toda esta ropa me encanta. Hace años que no compro ropa nueva y al ver estas "chivas" tan bonitas me emocioné mucho.

Lo primero que hago es medirme todo. Lo que me queda bien lo lavo y lo guardo. Y lo que no lo aparto para "después" acomodarlo y allí pasan días esperando 😄 pero ya basta de postergar. Tomé los hilos, la aguja, tijera y puse manos a la obra. Varias blusas necesitaban ajustarse en el cuello con hilo elástico, pero como no tengo solo le recogí uno o dos dedos en la parte de atrás del cuello y me quedaron perfectas.

Los pantalones casi nuevos. Al mono verde le reforcé la costura en la parte de atrás del fundillo.

Al pantalón azul turquesa le eliminé dos costuras que tenía porque me apretaba en las piernas. Supongo que quién lo usó le quedaba ancho y le metió. También le hice un ruedo porque estaba cortado y basteado solo en algunas partes.

Al pantalón blanco le retiré toda la tela plastificada que tenía como decoración en la parte superior, llegando a la pretina por la parte de atrás y adelante. Allí le cosí un trocito de tela brillante para hacerlo más elegante.

Al pantalón color caramelo le reforcé la costura en la entrepierna.

Al suéter rosado le reforcé los huequitos que son parte del diseño, pero se estaban descosiendo.

Estuve muy entretenida el fin de semana. Cuando mi hijo me vio haciendo este trabajo se acordó que varios de sus bermudas necesitan botones y algunos arreglos, lo invité a sumarse al desafío para que de una vez arregle su ropita. Otras de las prendas de vestir que recibí solo había que lavarlas y plancharlas. Como pueden ver ahora tengo ropa para estrenar. ¿Qué tal? También aproveché para dejar las fotografías disponibles para usar en mi blog. ¡Ganancia por todos lados!

Desde niñas mi mamá nos enseñó a aceptar donaciones de personas conocidas y familiares. Esto que llamamos "chivas" 😃 es como una tradición. Nosotros en casa también recogemos la ropa que ya no usamos y la donamos. Sabemos que así como yo soy feliz de recibirla, otros también lo serán.

Hello my friends, happy day to all. Another week to develop our pending projects. There are only a few days left to expose the process and the final results of the work done. Honestly I have quite a long list 🙂 obviously I won't be able to finish even half of it 😃 however I'm making an effort to advance a little more. That's why today I'm going to present you my third progress 👏 I'm very happy to have finally dedicated myself and to see this project finished. I invite you to read the details of my work 🤭.

A few months ago, since the year 2022 around the month of October I started receiving donations from the family of the father of my children. It's not the first time they donate to me 😌 as I love to receive them. These are sacks of used clothes 😳 here in Venezuela we call them "chivas". Most of these clothes are in good condition. When they bring them to me I go through them calmly and select what I like and what I can use and what I can't. Then I go to my sister's place and pick out what I don't like. Then I go to my sister and my mom, they also select from the pile the clothes that they like and fit them. Last year my mom was the one who came out on top because there were many blouses, long skirts and pants in the bag that she arranged to fit her. My mom, I have already told you, is an empirical seamstress, she loves to sew. She has benefited a lot from these donations.

At the beginning of December I received a small bag of clothes that they selected for me before filling the bags to donate. There were pants and blouses, sweaters and two dresses.

Most of these clothes are in excellent condition. My NeedleWorkYourBucketList 🧵 for today is to spend time mending and fitting to my size those clothes that need it. I love all of these clothes. It's been years since I've bought new clothes and seeing these cute "chivas" made me so excited.

The first thing I do is measure everything. What fits me well I wash and put away. And what doesn't I set aside for "later" to fit it and there days go by waiting 😄 but enough procrastination. I grabbed the threads, needle, scissors and got to work. Several blouses needed to be adjusted at the neck with elastic thread, but since I don't have any I just picked up one or two fingers at the back of the neck and they were perfect.

The pants are almost new. The green jumpsuit I reinforced the seam at the back of the sleeve.

I removed two seams from the turquoise blue pants because they were too tight on my legs. I guess whoever wore it had a baggy fit. I also made a hem because it was cut and baste only in some parts.

I removed all the plasticized fabric I had as decoration at the top of the white pants, reaching the waistband at the back. There I sewed a little piece of shiny fabric to make it more elegant.

I reinforced the seam at the crotch of the caramel-colored pants.

On the pink sweater I reinforced the holes that are part of the design, but they were coming undone.

I was very busy over the weekend. When my son saw me doing this work, he remembered that some of his shorts need buttons and some repairs, so I invited him to join the challenge to fix his clothes once and for all. Other clothes I received just needed to be washed and ironed. As you can see now I have clothes to wear for the first time, how are you? I also took the opportunity to leave the pictures available for use in my blog. Winning all around!

Since we were little girls my mom taught us to accept donations from acquaintances and relatives. This thing we call "chivas" 😃 it's like a tradition. We at home also collect clothes we no longer wear and donate them. We know that just as I am happy to receive it, others will be too.
