Desde hace más de cuatro años no entro a una peluquería para que me corten o sequen el cabello 🚫 ya que mi cervical no soporta ni el tiempo de ejecución del proceso de corte ni los templones que suelen darnos las peluqueras al hacer su trabajo. Desde entonces yo misma he ido aprendiendo a cortar y dar forma a mi cabello sin salir de casa y lo mejor, no gasto ni medio.

For more than four years I have not been going to a hairdresser to have my hair cut or blow-dried 🚫 because my neck can't stand neither the time it takes to execute the cutting process nor the tempers that hairdressers usually give us when doing their job. Since then I have been learning how to cut and shape my hair myself without leaving home and the best thing is that I don't even spend half of it.

Mis visitas a la peluquería para cortar y secar el cabello solían ser frecuentes. A pesar de que me costaba mucho encontrar los sitios más cómodos siempre visitaba los centro de estética para el cabello donde el trato fuera amable y cordial. Me gusta ir a las peluquerías amplias, en las que haya mucha luz, menos ruido, aire acondicionado y especialmente que tengan punto de venta. Prefiero que las peluqueras se concentren en lo que hacen y no en averiguarme la vida ni darme detalles de las suyas. Realmente voy a estos lugares a relajarme. Me doy de regalo unas horas para mí, para pensar, meditar o simplemente ponerme en modo off un buen rato. Además de los cambios físicos espero salir también de la peluquería con un cambio interior, al menos relajada y más bonita.

Hoy como muchas otras veces desde hace algunos años yo misma corté mi cabello. Si aún lo ves largo es porque me gusta usar el cabello largo, además teniéndolo largo se me hace mucho más fácil hacerme el corte.

My visits to the hairdresser to cut and dry my hair used to be frequent. Although I had a hard time finding the most comfortable places, I always visited hair salons where the treatment was friendly and cordial. I like to go to spacious salons, where there is a lot of light, less noise, air conditioning and especially if they have a point of sale. I prefer the hairdressers to concentrate on what they do and not on figuring out my life or giving me details of theirs. I really go to these places to relax. I treat myself to a few hours to myself, to think, meditate or just put myself in off mode for a good while. In addition to the physical changes I hope to leave the salon with an inner change, at least relaxed and more beautiful.

Today as many other times since a few years ago I cut my hair myself. If you still see it long it's because I like to wear my hair long, and having it long makes it much easier for me to get it cut.

La misma vida me puso en la situación de aprender a cortar mi cabello. Mi condición de salud y la situación económica por la que hemos pasado originaron que yo tomara la iniciativa de cortarme el cabello la primera vez. Después ví a mi hermana cortarse el de ella y también recordé que mi mamá nos cortaba el pelo cuando estábamos chamas.

Me atreví a hacerlo porque las últimas veces que fui al salón observé y escuché con atención lo que me explicaba la peluquera. En varias ocasiones me atendió la dueña de la peluquería, ella es una señora muy reconocida en la ciudad por sus conocimientos y porque sus peluquerías son de renombre. Yo era cliente de ella porque el ambiente de sus salón era como lo especifiqué al principio. Tengo que decir que muchas veces fui solo a que me lavaran el cabello. De ella aprendí a realizar esta forma de corte de cabello.

Life itself put me in the situation of learning how to cut my hair. My health condition and the economic situation we have been going through made me take the initiative to cut my hair the first time. Then I saw my sister cut hers and I also remembered that my mom used to cut our hair when we were kids.

I dared to do it because the last few times I went to the salon I watched and listened carefully to what the hairdresser explained to me. On several occasions I was attended by the owner of the salon, she is a very well known lady in the city for her knowledge and because her hairdressers are renowned. I was her client because the atmosphere of her salon was as I specified at the beginning. I have to say that many times I went alone to have my hair washed. From her I learned how to do this type of haircut.

💇 Ahora corresponde el corte de la pollina, claro que no tengo pollina, pero me refiero a todo este cabello que tenemos sobre la frente. Se agarra desde la parte de atrás de las orejas, se peina muy bien y se corta solo dos dedos. Esto se hace solo para emparejar también adelante.

💇 Hay que cortar sin miedo. Yo apenas me corto unos 10 ó 12 cm de cabello cada vez. Más lo que corto en la parte de adelante y para emparejar. Les digo que yo no soy peluquera ni jamás he realizado cursos. Solo que me atreví a cortarlo un día y he ido mejorando la técnica. El cabello me crece muy rápido desde que yo empecé a cortarlo.

💇 Para finalizar el corte colocamos el cabello de nuevo a los lados recogiéndolo todo y seguimos emparejando. De un lado y del otro. Es importante tenerlo aún un poco húmedo y bien peinado. Ya después lo lavamos y secamos y de ser necesario volvemos a corregir. Lo mejor de este proceso es que lo hago en la comodidad de mi hogar. Sigo aprendiendo y me siento satisfecha al ver que el cabello se ve más bonito al peinarlo. Me encantaría poder ir a los salones, pero me ocasionaría un prolongado dolor de cabeza y cervical que duraría varios días. ¡Lamentablemente!
