VEGUETA TAPESTRY made with the TAPESTRY technique. [Esp-Eng]

Hola a todos, deseo que este sea un gran día para todos, repleto de bendiciones y de muchísimos éxitos en sus publicaciones. El día de hoy vengo a contarles sobre un reto que me propuse hace unos días. Todo comenzó porque un amigo me compartió algunas imágenes que él mismo ha estado realizando en páginas cuadriculadas. En medio de la conversación se me ocurrió empezar a tejer algunos personajes de mi agrado empleando la técnica TAPESTRY, es una de las técnicas del crochet que me encanta y la verdad es que hace tiempo que no la práctico. Al tener las imágenes de cada personaje ya listas en cuadrícula es para mi mucho más fácil seguir un patrón. Entonces puse manos a la obra y está fue mi primera elección.

Hello everyone, I wish you all a great day, full of blessings and lots of success in your publications. Today I come to tell you about a challenge I set myself a few days ago. It all started because a friend shared with me some images that he himself has been making on gridded pages. In the middle of the conversation it occurred to me to start knitting some characters of my liking using the TAPESTRY technique, it is one of the crochet techniques that I love and the truth is that I have not practiced it for a long time. Having the images of each character ready in a grid makes it much easier for me to follow a pattern. So I got down to work and this was my first choice.

🐉 Para elaborar este hermoso tapiz necesité de los siguientes materiales:

• Hilos pabilos colores blanco, beige, negro, amarillo, azul rey y azul celeste matizado.
• Aguja de crochet de 2,50mm.
• Tijeras.
• Aguja lanera.

To make this beautiful tapestry I needed the following materials:

• Threads pabilos colors white, beige, black, yellow, royal blue and light blue tinged.
• Crochet needle of 2.50mm.
• Scissors.
• Wool needle.

🐉 En esta ocasión trabajé usando la imagen que obtuve de la página de pinterest, por lo tanto todo el procedimiento para elaborar el tapiz consiste en visualizar esa imagen e ir incorporando los hilos a medida que voy tejiendo. El tapiz lo realicé empleando solo PUNTOS BAJOS. Inicié con una cadena de 50 puntos. Sobre esa cadena tejí una vuelta de solo puntos bajos, esto en color azul celeste matizado porque es el color que escogí para el fondo del tapiz.

🐉 This time I worked using the image I got from the pinterest page, so the whole procedure to make the tapestry consists of visualizing that image and incorporating the threads as I weave. I made the tapestry using only LOW Stitches. I started with a chain of 50 stitches. On that chain I wove a row of only single crochet stitches, this in light blue color because that is the color I chose for the background of the tapestry.

🐉 En las siguientes vueltas fui tejiendo puntos bajos en el color que corresponde en cada vuelta. Como pueden ver en la imagen hay cuadros y cada uno tiene su color correspondiente; significa que cuando vea los cuadros azules claros debo tejer puntos bajos en color azul celeste matizado, al ver un cuadro en color negro debo hacer el cambio de color antes de cerrar el punto de color azul. De este modo debí hacer durante todo el proceso de tejido. Al empezar fue muy sencillo porque solo usé los hilos colores azul celeste y el negro.

🐉 In the following rows I knitted single crochet in the corresponding color in each row. As you can see in the image there are squares and each one has its corresponding color; it means that when I see the light blue squares I must knit the ground stitches in light blue color, when I see a square in black color I must make the color change before closing the blue color stitch. In this way I had to do during the whole knitting process. At the beginning it was very simple because I only used the light blue and black yarns.

🐉 Una vez que seguí tejiendo y guiándome por la imagen fui incorporando los otros colores, ahora llevo en el tejido el color azul, negro, amarillo 💛 y así me los fui llevando por detrás de los puntos mientras que seguía tejiendo con puntos bajos. En esto consiste esta técnica, hacer diseños o figuras de hilos usando diferentes colores 🌈

🐉 Once I continued knitting and guided by the image I was incorporating the other colors, now I am knitting blue, black, yellow 💛 and so I was taking them behind the stitches while I continued knitting with low stitches. This is what this technique consists of, making designs or figures of yarns using different colors 🌈

🐉 A esta altura ya tenía otros colores de hilos en el tejido, el blanco el azul rey y beige. Hice todo lo posible por ocultar bien las hebras, sin embargo se pueden ver entre el tejido realizado. Espero poder corregir este detalle en los próximos tapices. De todos modos estoy súper feliz porque el reto lo he logrado. Me encanta mucho como se ve Vegueta en mi tapiz.

🐉 At this point I already had other yarn colors in the fabric, white, royal blue and beige. I did my best to hide the strands well, however you can see them among the weaving done. I hope to be able to correct this detail in the next tapestries. Anyway, I am super happy because I have achieved the challenge. I really love how Vegueta looks on my tapestry.

🐉 Como toque final le hice un borde de puntos bajos en color amarillo. Además tejí una cadena de 15 puntos, la cual rellené con puntos bajos. Esta cadena funciona como asa para colgar.

🐉 As a final touch I made a border of low stitches in yellow. I also knitted a chain of 15 stitches, which I filled with single crochet. This chain functions as a hanging handle.
