LOST BUT FOUND

Out of the things I dislike the most in this life, looking for things will probably be part of the top 10. I really hate the stress that comes with looking for an item that could be in a thousand places. Once you are unaware of the exact location of an item, then get reach to through the stress of checking the possible places it might be. If you get lucky, you eventually find it, and if otherwise, you will have to just find a way to deal with it.

When I was doing my final clearance from the university, I had to make a payment to the microfinance bank of the university. I was given a teller, which was meant to be converted to a receipt at the ALUMNI center. I couldn't do it that same day because I had to travel, so I just kept the receipt in the middle of a book where I thought it would be safe and never far away from me.

Well, when the time came for me to go convert the teller to the an official receipt, the teller was nowhere to the found. I could not remember the exact book I put it in, but I checked every single book that I thought it might be in, but I didn't see this teller. I was so frustrated because it was looking as of I would have to pay again. The whole final year and clearance thingy were already stressful and costly, and I scolded myself for making such a mistake. I thought I could have just put it in the bag that contains all my files.

I searched and searched, but I didnt see what I was looking for. I later concluded that it probably slipped from the book I put it in. I went back to the microfinance bank and explained my predicament to them. Thank God for records, we were able to get the teller number, and I was also told to write a letter to the manager. I was also told to pay a little amount, maybe as fine or whatever they called it that I can't remember.

I couldn't even do it that particular day, I had to visit that bank about three times before I had it sorted out. At the end of the day, they made a photocopy of their own copy of the teller and added a note to it. That was when I could tender my teller to the ALUMNI office in order to get the official receipt.

Now, imagine going through all these stress and ending up seeing this teller when looking for one random thing in your old diary😂😭. I was just dumbfounded when I saw the annoying paper. 'You mean you were here all along and you made me go through all that stress?! Unbelievable. It was just funny, because I checked this particular book when I was looking for it but I just didn't find it. Finding it didn't change anything at the end of the day, because I didn't need it anymore by then.

Thanks for reading❤️

Oh yeah we can completely relate! We lost my sons wallet the other day - searched the house, car and surrounding area for an hour or more only to find out that my son did the right thing and hid his wallet in his hiding spot since it has money in it - only to forget that he hid it there hahaha. We did find it and had a good laugh but also a lesson in that we should put things in a small number of places so we don’t have to search everything for an item.

Hopefully you don’t lose this thing again!
