THE CHANGES THAT COME WITH TIME IN SCHOOLS TODAY

If not that I went back to the high school I attened some few weeks ago, I would have said I didn't miss it that much. I got there and it was so nostalgic, I realized how much I missed it and the memories attached to the place. I am not so old, but its been so many years since I finished high school and a lot seemed to have changed already.

One really good thing about schools back then was that majority of the students were allowed to get to the proper ages before they move to their next phase of education. Everyone might not agree with this because they believe in "fast education" but I do not support students skipping some required classes just because they want them to grduate on time. If a child has an exceptional intellectual capability, that is still understandable, but making a child jump classes blindly and just rushing them anyhow is not so fair. They should be allowed to pass through each class with the assurance that they fully understand everything they have been taught.

Although, back then, there were students who did this--jumped classes--, but the percentage isn't as high as this time around. The last time I visited my high school, I could bet most of those kids were less than 11. I do understand that age might not be the major factor in this, but then, it seems as if education isn't even taken so serious anymore. Everyone just wants to finish school, get the degree, and figure out what to do with their lives, even if its not related to the field they studied in school.

That is very understandable too because that is even the case now for those that disn't jump classes, the government has failed us, the education system is very poor and nothing works. It's as if people are just going to school so as to not be called names and so they can fit in well in the society. That is very sad if you ask me.

One thing that was bad then was adequate access to the internet, which has changed for a while now. I remember this particular mid-term breaks that we would be given so much assignment to do. Almost all the teachers will give us assignment in their respective subjects. One funny thing about these assignments was that no one ever finished it, there will always be this tedious question that even the internet wouldn't give answers to. We would go to cyber cafe, buy some time in order to access the internet better since the phones available then were not of much assitance. Even with this, we still would not find the answers, I bet Chat GPT would have saved our asses if we had access to such a tool then, lol.

Things are better now, there are a lot of inventions that can aid the learning of any child. Even kids learn so much things on their tabs these days, it was mostly paper charts back then and some cassettes. It is very good to see that things are a lot more better for this generation, but there are so much distractions as well. At the end of the day, there is nothing with advantages that doesn't have its own disadvantages as well.

Thanks for reading❤️

You are on point, the rate at which student skip classes is so rampant now in schools unlike before. Some parents will take their children to another school to start a higher class

I tell you, it is becoming too much nowadays. As a teacher that has tutored a lot of student, my mom always preach against it. She would even advise the parents, but they never listen anyway

I was a victim of fast education back then in school, only I understood what I had missed as I continued in my studies but my parents doesn't.

The availability of internet now is by far helping education to a great extent, I must say 🙂

Yeah, the internet is helping a lot, they have access to many materials that can help them learn better.
