Bibliosmia: The Addicting Smell Of Old Books

20221007_133206_0000.png

Hey guys, it's another opportunity to join Lady Of Hives weekly contest! And this is the prompt I chose:

"Scents are so very lovely — well, most of the time! If you could be any scent, what would it be and why? What memories, if any, does your choice bring to mind?"

In my retrospective the best smell to be, is the smell of old books. Yes, you have read that correctly, old books. And yes, I am someone who loves the smell of weirdest things out there but who would want the smell of old books? Come on it's definitely addicting.

Kidding aside, I am also someone who associates smell with memories and the happiest memories I have are when I'm sniffling the smell of old books, before after reading them. Memorizing its musky smell.

Not only because it induces serotonin to my whole system but because it also brings back the memory of my late father teaching me the wonders of reading.

There is just something about the smell of old books that makes me giddy with energy as if my body knows that when I start reading, I will be on a new adventure. It's like a portal to new magical world!

Reading has always been one of my stressed relievers and the smell of old books just calms my system whenever I feel uncertain about something.

It was taken years ago in my room on our family house. I got three more of those shelves in the back filled lots and lots of books. And they are my beloved treasures.

I mostly wanted second hand books mainly because of its smell. It reminds me of vanilla or sometimes the smell of those pines you put on your christmas tree.

If I could be a smell, I would be the smell of old book and maybe just maybe I could also bring someone into an exciting world of adventure within the pages of the books.

How about you? Do you also like weird smells? What smells would like to be?

I am calling forth for @justfocus @princessbusayo to join this week's prompt contest.

That is a lot of book collection! I am so jealous!
I love books and their smell too but sadly I haven’t opened a book recently. I know I should. It’s been so long since I read and just enjoyed my time reading from the books that has a distinct smell. 😅
