Life on Camera with HIVE

Growing up was quite the experience when it came to my mom and photos. For every vacation and event she carried a disposable camera faithfully. She made sure to capture every moment of our lives and made no apologies for it.

Right before getting in line for a cool new ride she’d shout “Wait! I gotta get this on camera.” Or when we were exhausted from walking around at the amusement park she would pull out her camera and make us pose for a shot.

We’d secretly wish her camera would have fallen into water or out of her pocket while on a roller coaster 🤭.

Oh don’t get me started on birthdays. You’d think we were royalty with how many photos she would take of us. In some of the photos you’ll see us smiling (because she wouldn’t stop unless you gave her at least one good one) but most of them you can imagine our faces like 🙄.

We just couldn’t understand why she cared so much about getting all of these photos. My siblings and I vowed to never do this to our kids and interrupt their fun.

Well today, I seriously thank her for ALL of the photos she managed to capture of us. Back then I could care less of savoring a moment but now I have so many memories to look back on and cherish. If it wasn’t for both her and my dad I wouldn’t be able to show my kids those parts of my younger life.

Of course I broke our vow miserably. Now my own kids are going through the same fun torture I went through 😁. Oh if you could hear some of their comments. How about I just share some with you…

For real mom? 😑
Another picture?
MAMA NO, we’re tired! 😫
Ah come on!
Mom you already have plenty! 🥴

Yep, they’re living their life on camera.

It started as only wanting to take our own personal family portraits to save money…

Then I met HIVE and it ALL changed!

Yea, I’m blaming Hive right now for being so awesome and making me addicted to sharing my life through photos. 😜

We are right here sharing it all with you!

I have learned that not everything should or needs to be shared. Even if I get it on camera there are some moments that are meant to remain intimate and private. There are also moments when I don’t want to be boggled down with my camera or worrying about savoring a moment but instead I want to enjoy it.

That’s the beauty of this platform…you can share what you’re comfortable with sharing. I blog about various things but never blog about anything I would regret later on. Yea, cause once it’s here it’s imprinted on the blockchain FOREVER.

Although we decided to refrain from sharing my family’s faces anymore (online safety precautions) that hasn’t stopped me from sharing our lives. Of course I have to get creative about doing that which is why you mainly see hands, feet and backs lol! 😂

I know that my kids want to run from me and escape from this photo madness but I know one day they will appreciate all of it just as I’ve grown to do. They will be able to sit down with their family’s and enjoy the memories of their childhood. Their kids will get to see their young lives and what they were able to experience.

So thanks Hive for the motivation! Thanks for promoting me to document our lives and create all of these wonderful blueprints for years of enjoyment. Thank you for pushing me to be creative and finding new ways each week to share a little part of me, my life and my family. Cheers!!

Life on Camera…

isn’t so bad after all. ☺️

Thank You for always reading and supporting me. It wouldn’t be fun if you weren’t here to read and correspond. 💓

How lovely and Wonderful this is😊❤️.. I love everything I read here about the life on camera indeed it isn't bad at all. Capturing your moments from childhood up to adulthood on camera and saving the digital memories with you so you can draw the clock backward at sometime in the future and remember how your moments were years ago!.

It is really beautiful and this is an idea I would really love to initiate and take part with my own kids too. Very inspirational and motivative 😊❤️ one love @crosheille

It is always nice showing motherly love to children most especially when taking memorable pictures to be remembered someday is pretty nice to showcase such love.

I have learned that not everything should or needs to be shared. Even if I get it on camera there are some moments that are meant to remain intimate and private.

This is actually right because as humans we always have our private secrets that shouldn't be shared but keep personal.

Yes, I am really grateful for what my mother did and now I'm following in her footsteps.

Exactly :)

I do this a lot..my son is barely A year old and the amount of pictures and videos I have of him has exceeded the total picture I have of myself.

My husband says its obsession, but I say it's documentation. my partner said he is sure I would get tired of bringing out my camera at every slight chance but I doubt I would....

It may seems like I do it a lot but I know when to just enjoy the moment with him..

Lol I'm the same way. I have way more photos of my kids than I do of myself!

Yea I kind of know when I’m in the mood to pack our camera, or just snap cell phone photos. It’s a lot more effort carrying around our Cannon.

Yep, some moments are just to be enjoyed right then and there :)

Thanks so much for adding your input ~

... what's best is it's now all digital and we can take as much photo as as we can, storage-permitting!

Our moms had to spend on film and printing way back then and then put them. But but the thought is the same, yeah? Capture as many special and candid moments as possible. ❤️

Thanks to Hive we can share some of them and store them in the blockchain forever.do you also have that moment when you make the kids "move away" from the frame for a while, because that shot is for Hive? 🙈

Yes yes! Oh my goodness I remember going to the stores with my parents to develop soooo many photos and then helping to put them in photo albums. I do love having physical photos but I am so thankful for the technology we have today.

Oh my goodness yes I do! 😂😆😁🫣🤭
So glad I’m not the only one. My line is usually

Okay now step back you’re in my shot.

OR

Hey move to that side you’re in my light.

🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the comment ~

Should I say I am already addicted to taking pictures🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤩, especially photos of my kids? I think yes😆... I am also being like your mum in those early childhood days. There is no movement I make with my kids without requesting they pose for me to snap. This day, I hardly have my pictures, it's all about the kids now and my husband will always complain about how I don't get tired of life on the camera. He is my opposite, he doesn't have an interest in taking pictures even when I have explained to him the importance of this.

but now I have so many memories to look back on and cherish

This is it! Memories especially beautiful ones always lighten up our moods and guess what? I am not stopping any time soon from gathering pictures of us 😃😃

Hive too has pushed me to keep taking random pictures anytime, any day, hhehehe, ...planning of practicing the staging you thought us the other day ma🥰

I totally agree with you on this, life on camera isn't bad at all

Hahaha you and me both are addicted! I love capturing precious moments of them. Besides, they’re only little for a short time.

Lol my husband is the same way. He likes doing photos for our business but when it comes to personal photos he’s not as enthused as I am.

So glad you’re doing to give some of those staging tips a try. I hope you enjoy it :D

Thanks for the visit ~

Besides, they’re only little for a short time.

Thank you so much, this is the main thing here..🤩, the other day, I was going through my phone and saw the picture of my first son right in the theater after I birthed him...ooh! Imagine the joy 😊, a quick flash of sweet memory that ran through my mind that very day. My first fruit, looking at him as a baby and now that he is 7yrs, I felt so much good. This is the power of life on the camera🤩🤩🤩. Those memories it brought back cheered me up on that day and I loved it😍

My husband has no personal picture too but I am trying so hard to influence him😅😅

Thanks a bunch, ma, I love your content always...you sure know how to quench the taste of your readers and keep them wanting more. And the good thing is that what you teach is unpredictable 😅😅, different valuable things always 👍

Taking photos is the best, they always leave us a good memory. It was already doing it long before Hive so now it's been enhanced. Even some of my first posts here were with photos that had been taken many years ago, I think I implicitly knew I was going to be a blogger at some point so it was good to have kept them 😂.

Your children will thank you for this pics in the future, you just have to wait a few years... 😅

Somehow this made me emotional. That feeling of having your family together and having to take shots of beautiful memories is super cool. I have learnt to capture moments because you can never recover that time again.

I know what you mean about the emotional part. I always get emotional in some way when I look over the photos I have taken throughout the years. 🥹
