Since today is Sunday and there is no school, my nieces and nephews come over to the house to play with my child. I am happy that they make the effort to visit and play together, especially since my child has no one to play with when they are in school; we also visit their place in the afternoon once they have returned home.

Aside from playing, what their hubby does here is gather fruit whenever there's something ripe—like young coconut, mango, bananas, Bignay, and guavas—as well as Seryales (Governor's plums); they actually picked the ripe ones last night while looking for spiders. 🤣

They spotted the ripe rambutans and asked for permission to pick some; I usually don't let them pick the fruit especially when it's still unripe but now that they are ripe, I let them have them so they can enjoy eating them and nothing goes to waste.

Here they are—one of them has already climbed the tree, while the other handed over the picking pole. Actually, the one up in the tree isn't my nephew; he's a neighbours child who tagged along with them to hang out at our house.

And the ones down below are the ones keeping watch and gathering the harvested rambutans. They collect them first before eating, because they're going to share the haul among themselves.

Ta-da! Here is what they got. The kid plucked them down quickly because he couldn't stay in the tree for long—there were lots of large red ants, which we call Pala here. They divided the harvest among themselves, and of course, I asked for some too, hehe.

They gave me the biggest and ripest one; when I opened it, it was incredibly juicy—sweet with a hint of tanginess that really hit the spot when I tasted it. It's no wonder they were so eager to get them, even with those large red ants living in the tree—haha. After we finished eating the ones they had gathered, they went back for more, but this time, they were knocking them down by throwing sticks.

By the way, since tomorrow is Teachers' Day, some of my nieces asked if they could make flowers here at the house to give to their teachers—knowinh I have the materials I bought when we first arrived here in our house. I actually wanted to learn how to craft flowers using fuzzy wire, but I never got around to it because I just felt too lazy, lol.😆

I gave them all the craft supplies I had, and they started working on them right away. They arrived quite late—im not sure why—having decided only this 5:PM to come over to the house to make flowers for there teacher. 🙃

I wasn't able to help them either because I was finishing up the laundry and cooking when they arrived, so they simply gave away the flowers I had made back when I was just starting to practice.

They were watching a tutorial on their phones while working, but they struggled to replicate the steps due to time constraints and the need to head home since us was already late; they also had trouble making the ribbon, but fortunately, they quickly figured out how to do it.

Here is what they've accomplished so far— there's still work to be done. They went home because it was getting late, but they borrowed some of my supplies to finish the work at their own homes. I asked them to return the materials tomorrow after they finished using them.

I hope their teachers appreciate what they will give tomorrow; they really put in the effort to make these, and they even wrote message for their teachers.

That's all for today, and Happy Teachers' Day to all the wonderful teachers here on Hive and around the world— you deserve to blessed in life!

This is a very wholesome and enjoyable read! 😊 I love seeing children spend time outdoors instead of being glued to gadgets all day. Ang saya siguro nilang mamitas ng rambutan at maghati-hati ng kanilang nakuha. The sweetest part for me was when they shared some of the harvest with you. Family moments like these are truly precious. Nakakatuwa rin na supportive ka sa kanilang Teachers' Day project. Even though you were busy with laundry and cooking, you still shared your materials with them. That was very kind of you. I think the teachers will be touched because the flowers were handmade and came from the children's own effort. Hindi man perpekto ang gawa nila, the love and appreciation behind it are what matter most. 😇

What a sweet and thoughtful way to celebrate Teachers’ Day! The rambutan picking looks fun, and I love that they even made flowers for their teachers. So sweet of them for sharing the rambutans with you as well 🥰

Yes. I’m always happy when they’re around because I usually don’t get to have the fruit—since I’d have to climb up or squeeze into tight spots to get it, haha—but when they’re here, I get to eat some too. 😆
