Hello friends how are you all. I am your friend cruis. In this video I am talking about today's day which is World Marine Day. It is celebrated here every year on 30 September. But there are many countries which celebrate this day on 24th September. In India it is celebrated every year on 5th April. 30 September i.e. on the last Thursday of September. The theme of this year's World Maritime Day is - Empowering women in the Maritime community. The purpose of this day is to make people aware of the safety of the maritime environment, the maritime industry and shipping safety. About 71% of the world is surrounded by sea water, only 29% is land on which the world's population lives. World Maritime Day was first celebrated in 1971. Earlier in 1958, the World Maritime Organization used to select dates. Thank you.
