It Takes Time To Establish Yourself

I was reading @jongolson's post about the length of time it takes to establish an online business or a successful blog like we are all trying to achieve on Hive. The time is 10 years and the length of time I would have guessed as it is a guesstimate or thumb suck depending how committed and consistent you have been. Everyday is just another building block to the end goal. This shouldn't chase you away as what we do is considered fun.

But But But....It's Taking Too Long! Here is the @jongolson post and worth a read.

If someone who spends 5hours a day on chain vs someone who is here for 1 hour you would think the 5 x the time would succeed quicker. Not necessarily as it depends what you do in that time as someone could sit chatting for hours in discord achieving very little.

An established bricks or mortar business takes roughly 20 years to say they have finally made it and online about 50% being 10 years. The processes can be sped up and that solely relies with the individual or individuals involved.

On Hive we want to achieve more without doing all the hard yards it takes as that is time consuming. From someone who has been committed from day one I expected to be in a strong position over the next 4 years. With time there is no shortcuts and it all boils down to how badly you want something.

1 hour a day still ain't going to cut it and I know as the hours I have put in over the first 4 years would equate to roughly 1 year on here. Not something you want to think about as it is hard to comprehend ,but at least you have something to show for it. What would you have done in that time if there was no Hive? A majority would have watched tv and wasted this opportunity so it is not all bad and in many ways has set you on a whole new path.

Just imagine putting aside the few hours required every day for 10 years to change your life entirely financially. I think if the majority of people knew what we knew they would also be here right now. This is why making the time count on chain is that critical as how much time do we really have before the flood gates open? The economy outside is not improving and we must expect new users to slowly start streaming in. Over the past few months there are many new names appearing which is a healthy sign.

Timing is everything in life and making the most of an opportunity is what many squander. The human race is generally lazy and don't like to work and possibly why so many have come before us and left. The longer you stick at something the easier it becomes and that is true with Hive or anything in life as you understand how things work.

I think you are in a really really good position! It really shows that 4 years can be used very wise. I also admire that you still ahve higher goals, this is what makes a true passioante person about this space!

I am relatively new and I am experiencing the first drop of interest by people in this space. I think now is the time to step up and be consistent as this platform is abig opportunity for everyone involved :)

Just keep going and don't worry what others are doing. Staying consistent no matter what is what counts the most.

I think if you split it up into manageable chunks it isn't too bad. That is how I felt when I started adding my Listnerds stuff to my main Hive and Leo activities. Once I found a good balance, it hasn't been that bad at all.

Great post and I always make sure that I reflect back on the journey of blogging. I been going on to year 5 now and in that time the structure and style of my blog has changed and developed over time. It took me about 3 and a half years to get the level of refinement that I'm happy with.

We should learn to enjoy the hustle and if we're doing it for the right reasons the enjoyment will resonate across writing which readers will pick up

Great to hear your thoughts on this topic.

We all ultimately want that passive income and in crypto, there is definitely opportunity to achieve one.

But like anything, you have to put in the work first and on Hive an active income will lead to a passive income.

Grind away with our writing and reinvest what we earn in other areas offering higher passive yields.

The blueprint is there.

And those of us grinding away following the plan during these down times will come out the other side in an EXTREMELY good position.

Hopefully you and me are a part of that group ;)

It’s true for many things in life. When you really commit to it, it becomes easier over time and you have more change in succeeding. Finding a balance is key too.
Use your time wisely 😎

It's really hard to manage time and there is only so much I can do per day. That is why I have mainly focused on LeoFinance and I am also having trouble just keeping up with that.
