Foreword: Some Context

Greetings everyone! In this post I will summarize my experience/winnings during the Gremlins Inc new years tournament in which I won 5 of 10 matches. Only using images taken from in game during my playthroughs. If you are curious about this game you can check out my more in depth review post of it here before continuing. I cover what this game is like and give example footage there too if one is curious and inclined to view it. Anyways, Without further or do let's get into this tournament and how it went.

My Results: Not too shabby

Personally my performance during the matches was admirable, I even achieved a few hard to finagle achievements along the way organically during the match (most of which only 1 percent of the playerbase has actually achieved). This however didn't even put me anywhere close to top 20 for the tournament. It's a cutthroat world of gremlins indeed. I did however get over 8 tournament chests which resulted in 2 rare pulls that I can sell on the steam market if I need to ( I think I'll sell one and keep the other ). This isn't bad considering this is just a web2 game and I didn't perform in the higher percentiles this time around. However, I will be bringing the A game next time to try and reach the lofty position of top 20. Each match I had was tooth and nail and me trying too hard to get achievements during the match and playing with "less than ideal" classes did not put me at an advantage. Next time I want to be in the top 20, I think it's a fun goal to have and an achievable one that I can work towards.

Who's on first? : What was the highest score?

These are the folks who are entitled to the listed prizes, and they deserve it might I add. These are monstrous scores. Their prices for the prizes they won (if directly listed) are anywhere from 3-30 dollars a piece. Which isn't bad if it's a game you might play a bit over the weekend anyway. These players are monsters and I'm going to have to put in work to place in the next event.

Loot for the hoard: What I'll be doing with my chests

I opened them this time and ended up rolling one of the pricier items TWICE, which means I will most certainly be trying to get a few cents for this bad boy on the market. I also will be trying to get a chest every 3 days from here on out while I slowly eek out the rest of the achievements in game. It's a fun grind in a relaxing boardgame with a nice atmospheric presence and music. Additional musical tracks can also be unlocked via these chests, if I ever do so I will just keep those. This soundtrack is quite lovely to listen to.

Competitive Thoughts: Reflections for next time

I definitely think I will be going with only "Strong" classes at the start of the game instead of picking ones "I haven't won with yet" like I have been. Some classes seem stronger than others depending on the map (There are a few tournament maps in gremlins that tilt in favor of particular classes attributes more than others). I also think that I will be still having a run for my money even if I give my best strategy and gameplay, this run was tough and it wasn't like I was "taking it easy". I won about half of my matches (which was hard af ngl), but potentially being able to eek out an indie game (via in game item steam market sales) in the next tournament for a top 20 place is always tempting. Even aside from that the bustling in game item market at least gives a place to get change for buying cards to level up my steam account, this won't be the last post I do about this game expect a more detailed strategy guide at some point..

Prólogo: algo de contexto

¡Saludos a todos! En esta publicación resumiré mi experiencia/ganancias durante el torneo de año nuevo de Gremlins Inc en el que gané 5 de 10 partidos. Si tienes curiosidad acerca de este juego, puedes consultar mi publicación de revisión más detallada aquí antes de continuar. Cubro cómo es este juego y también doy imágenes de ejemplo si uno tiene curiosidad y está dispuesto a verlo. De todos modos, sin más ni más, entremos en este torneo y cómo fue.

Mis resultados: No está nada mal

Personalmente, mi desempeño durante los partidos fue admirable, incluso logré algunos logros difíciles de lograr de manera orgánica durante el partido. Sin embargo, esto ni siquiera me acercó al top 20 del torneo. De hecho, es un mundo despiadado de gremlins. Obtuve más de 8 cofres de torneo, lo que resultó en 2 extracciones raras que puedo vender en el mercado de Steam si es necesario (creo que venderé uno y me quedaré con el otro). Esto no está mal considerando que es solo un juego web2 y esta vez no obtuve un desempeño en los percentiles más altos. Sin embargo, la próxima vez traeré el juego A. Cada partido que tuve fue con uñas y dientes y tratar de esforzarme mucho para obtener logros durante el partido y jugar con clases "menos que ideales" no me puso en ventaja. La próxima vez que quiera estar entre los 20 primeros, creo que es un objetivo divertido y alcanzable.

¿Quién va primero? : ¿Cuál fue la puntuación más alta?

Estas son las personas que tienen derecho a los premios enumerados y, debo añadir, se lo merecen. Son puntuaciones monstruosas. Los precios de los premios que ganaron (si figuran directamente en la lista) oscilan entre 3 y 30 dólares por pieza. Lo cual no está mal si es un juego al que podrías jugar un poco durante el fin de semana de todos modos. Estos jugadores son monstruos y tendré que esforzarme para ubicarlos en el próximo evento.

Botín para el tesoro: qué haré con mis cofres

Los abrí esta vez y terminé liando uno de los artículos más caros DOS VECES, lo que significa que seguramente intentaré conseguir unos centavos por este chico malo del mercado. También intentaré conseguir un cofre cada 3 días de ahora en adelante mientras busco lentamente el resto de los logros del juego. Es un juego de mesa divertido y relajante con una agradable presencia atmosférica y música. También se pueden desbloquear pistas musicales adicionales a través de estos cofres; si alguna vez lo hago, las conservaré. Esta banda sonora es bastante encantadora de escuchar.

Pensamientos Competitivos: Reflexiones para la próxima vez

Definitivamente creo que elegiré sólo clases "Fuertes" al comienzo del juego en lugar de elegir aquellas con las que "aún no he ganado" como lo he hecho. Algunas clases parecen más fuertes que otras dependiendo del mapa (hay algunos mapas de torneos en gremlins que se inclinan a favor de atributos de clases particulares más que otros). También creo que seguiré luchando por mi dinero incluso si doy mi mejor estrategia y jugabilidad, esta carrera fue difícil y no era como si me lo estuviera "tomando con calma". Gané aproximadamente la mitad de mis partidos (lo cual fue difícil para el mundo del fútbol), pero siempre es tentador poder conseguir un juego independiente (a través de las ventas del mercado de Steam de artículos del juego) en el próximo torneo para obtener un lugar entre los 20 primeros. Incluso aparte de eso, el bullicioso mercado de artículos del juego al menos ofrece un lugar para obtener cambio para comprar tarjetas y subir de nivel mi cuenta de Steam, esta no será la última publicación que haga sobre este juego, espero una guía de estrategia más detallada en algún momento. ..
