Blood Bowl: Flaming Landfill, it's just bad

Greetings everyone, today we are reviewing a game title that is well... a travesty. This abhorrent abomination of a game is one of the worst embodiments of any sport fictional or otherwise, and it's not for the reasons you think. It's for those, and every other reason you could come up with too. From gameplay, to lore, graphics, bugs, even to playerbase. This game takes Games Workshops lows right into Marianna's trench. It's so bad I had a debate with myself over whether or not to even submit gameplay footage along with this one (notice I didn't).

Saludos a todos, hoy estamos revisando un videojuego que es bueno... una tragedia. Esta abominación de juego es una de las peores encarnaciones de cualquier deporte ficticio o de otro tipo, y no es solo por las razones que podrias pensar. Es por eso, y por cualquier otra razón que se te ocurra. Desde la jugabilidad, la historia, los gráficos, los errores e incluso la poca cantidad los jugadores disponibles para jugar en linea. Este juego lleva el Games Workshop directamente hasta el punto mas bajo de la trinchera de Marianna. Es tan malo que tuve un debate conmigo mismo sobre si enviar o no material videografico del juego junto con este post (nota que no lo hice).

"Rough" Gameplay is an understatement

The gameplay, as I generously call it, is in fact just hitting a few buttons in fast sequence and using the same powers and strengths across EVERY team. Bombs and lightning coupled with manually moving around a few players in rapid sequence essentially creates a strategic-less experience that after a round or two loses it's already dull glimmer of appeal. Keep in mind there is no human you can match up with to play this. We gave the matchmaker a fair amount of time too (multiple hours), who could blame anyone for not playing this "gem" in "Ranked play"? It's not like matching against a human would change the lamentable aspects of this game that to top it off has NO CUSTIMZATION OF TEAMS, NO CHOICE IN PLAYER COMPOSITION, NO STORY, and NONE of the classic elements of blood bowl that make blood bowl well... blood bowl. This game isn't turn based either in case you were wondering.

El modo de juego, como lo llamo generosamente, consiste en presionar unos pocos botones en una secuencia rápida usando los mismos poderes y fortalezas en TODOS los equipos. Las bombas y los relámpagos, junto con el movimiento manual de unos pocos jugadores crean esencialmente una experiencia sin estrategia que, después de una o dos rondas pierde su atractivo. Ten en cuenta que no hay ningún humano con el que puedas emparejarste para jugar esto. También le dimos al juego una buena cantidad de tiempo para emparejar con otros jugadores (varias horas), ¿quién podría culpar a alguien por no jugar esta "joya" en "Juego clasificado"? No es como si enfrentarse a un humano cambiaría los aspectos lamentables de este juego que, para colmo, NO TIENE PERSONALIZACIÓN DE EQUIPOS, NO HAY OPCIONES EN LA COMPOSICIÓN DEL JUGADOR, NI HISTORIA, y NINGUNO de los elementos clásicos que hacen que Blood Bowl sea pues... Blood Bowl.

Bugs, AI, and Graphics. Oh my!

So the AI isn't bad in a difficulty sense. It's irritating in the fact that it can hit all players at once and the player can only move one at a time. A hearty disadvantage that shouldn't be allowed, and thusly only allows what I suppose is "the optimal experience" against another human player. The abilities are bugged, and look terrible. Fireballs and lightning bolts will both hit too many or too few opponents with no real defined hitbox. It's bad folks, real bad.

Entonces, la IA no es mala en un sentido de dificultad. Es irritante el hecho de que se puede golpear a todos los jugadores a un mismo tiempo y el jugador solo puede mover un personaje a la vez. Una gran desventaja que no debería permitirse y, por lo tanto, solo permite lo que supongo que es "la experiencia óptima" contra otro jugador humano. Las habilidades tienen errores y se ven terribles. Las bolas de fuego y los relámpagos golpearán a demasiados o muy pocos oponentes sin un hitbox definido. El juego es malo gente, muy malo.

The Worst Blood Bowl... So Far

This game is the worst iteration of "Blood Bowl" that has hit the shelves, there is no doubt about that. This game, if nothing else, at least holds the crown for WORST Blood Bowl iteration currently available. There is no other Blood Bowl you could play with worse gameplay mechanics or feel than this one. Look no further, you've found the worst of the worst. However, I wouldn't put it past Games Workshop to EVENTUALLY make something worse than even this currently is, but this game currently holds the title as THE WORST blood bowl iteration.... for now.

Este juego es la peor iteración de "Blood Bowl" que ha llegado a los estantes, de eso no hay duda. Este juego, al menos tiene la corona de la PEOR iteración de Blood Bowl actualmente disponible. No hay otro Blood Bowl al que puedas jugar con peor sabor de boca o peores mecánicas de juego que este. No busques más, ya lo has encontrado lo peor de lo peor. Sin embargo, no me extrañaría que Games Workshop EVENTUALMENTE haga algo peor de lo que es actualmente este es, pero este juego tiene el título de LA PEOR iteración de Blood Bowl... por ahora.

TLDR: So how bad is it?

This game is a crime against Blood Bowl and not worth playing, the only times it seems anyone acquires this game (to my knowledge) is when it is provided in a "Blood bowl complete" package. This is definitely the biggest blotch on the game series right here. Not even worth enough to be a mobile app, let alone a stand alone title like it currently stands. 1/5 stars, and even that feels like too much. I'm not going to mince words, Steer clear at all costs.

Este juego es un crimen contra Blood Bowl y no vale la pena jugarlo, las únicas veces que parece que alguien acuario este juego (que yo sepa) es cuando se proporciona en un paquete "Blood Bowl 2 completo". Esta es definitivamente la mancha más grande en la serie de juegos aquí. Ni siquiera vale lo suficiente como para ser una aplicación móvil, y mucho menos un título independiente como el que tiene actualmente. 1/5 estrellas, e incluso eso parece demasiado. No me voy a andar con rodeos, mantente alejado de el a toda costa.
