April 2023 checking of the author vs curation rewards

It's already May 1 2023. How was my account doing in April?

Previous edition of my report suggests that I started with 10400 HP last month. Now my HP is 10659, a nice 259 HP increase. 259 HP is worth about 106 HBD.

I made 31.1 HP in Author rewards and 51.83 HP in Curation rewards. These numbers don't tally with the 259 increase. I suspect it must be due to other forms of income being converted to HP which I don't remember. Or there must be some glitches that I am unaware of.

Anyway, it doesn't matter for now. I focus on the HP growth.

In terms of progression over months, it seems that I should be expecting 60 HP as a baseline for curation rewards. Anything less is not ideal.

If there is anything that I should take note of, it's the fact that I grew the account from 10K HP in mid-Jan 2023 to 10.659K HP at the end of Apr 2023.

659 HP per quarter, or 2,636 HP of I project it to a year. That is about 26% of the yield annually, i.e. 2,636/10,000.

Maybe I should watch this indicator closer instead!

Nice reflection about your growing in HIVE. Still you should have some others coins/tokens… as LEO, etc.

I also think the numbers don't really add up in terms of HP. Have you been able to figure out how those numbers are calculated?

Not sure if you're using #Ecency as a front end?... This rewards you for just "being there"...
I'm not sure if they reward with Ecency points or HP though... !PIZZA

Do you mean that #Ecency rewards you for using their frontend with Ecency Points, which you need to exchange for Promoting or Boosting Requests and get approved to be useful? 🤔😅 !LUV !CTP

I meant that we're getting #Ecency points for "heart beat" which basically means that we've got Ecency open on the laptop. !LOL !CTP

The "heartbeat" bonus of #Ecency Points is just 0.25 Points every 15 minutes, so if you managed to keep your device with your Ecency app open for 24 hours, you will get a maximum of 24 Points that way. 🤓 I said "maximum" because I noticed delays of more or less a few minutes after every 15 minutes for Ecency to award you another 0.25 Points. 😅 !LOL !CTP

24 #Ecency Points is definitely worth less than the electricity and depreciation of your device just keeping your Hive account online on Ecency for 24 hours (or 5 Points for 5 hours). 💸😅 !WEED !HUG

I don't think that it is "an angle to see" it, but "the angle that you should see" it. 😅

To be able to accumulate 150 #Ecency Points just by leaving your device open (and connected to the Internet) for 150 hours (which is almost 7 days), you will be able to claim a Boost enough for a total curation of $1 (which means $0.5 for the author and $0.5 for the curators). 💸😅💸 !HUG !PIZZA

Don't forget that even if a computer is left open for other things, leaving #Ecency open as an app or webpage on the computer still consumes some CPU and RAM. 🤓 You also need to be actively using the Ecency frontend for your Hive account to earn Ecency Points (only 0.25 Points every 15 minutes), not leaving it idle. 😅 !LUV !PIZZA
